Don't know if it has been mentioned on here previously but Harold Martin, Jr., son of Chancellor and Mrs. Harold Martin, Sr. was named interim President in June 2017 of Morehouse College in ATL. A permanent replacement was named this year. Kudos to the Martin family!!!!!

Are we vetting Harold, Jr. to replace Sr? I'm getting nervous that Harold is going to retire and we'll be scrambling to replace him.

Sr. still has a ways to go yet before riding off into the sunset and by his own admission he has some really big things left on his plate that are far from done.

And the person I think we need to keep an eye out for as the next Chancellor is the ODU's engineering Dean. She is an alum, an engineer (which we know we are ramping and advertising our STEM schools, and could be the first woman Chancellor of A&T. www.odu.edu/news/2016/3/engineering_dean#.WvMP1Ygvzcs

I hope he does have more things he wants to accomplish at A&T. He's really put the pride back in"Aggie Pride" and I want to continue that trend.

Think about it, Dr. Martin was a seasoned academic administer before coming back to A&T. Along the way he as senior vice president for academic affairs for the UNC System. He was chancellor of Winston-Salem State University. Previously at A&T he held a number of administrative posts including chairman of the department of electrical engineering, dean of the College of Engineering and vice chancellor for academic affairs. Finding a replacement for Dr.Martin is going to be tough, he has set a high bar, but selecting an unproven administrator without university wide experience is not the way I would go.

If her tenure is a success at ODU, she has to be worth considering.

lawd have mercy!! i don't even wanna think about dr. martin retiring. the impact he has had on our university has been very "profound". i'm hoping he'll have a dr. harvey like tenure as our chancellor, i don't ever wanna see him leave.
hail, as far as i'm concerned, he has my permission to be our "chancellor for life"!! dr. martin is knocking this friggin' thang out da park!!
