Greensboro newspaper posted the Celebration Bowl attendance at 25,873. Hell 20,000 of those fans were Aggies! I guess the Grambling folks had stayed at home after two weeks of the Bayou Classic and their Championship game. I was just glad to see so many Aggies made the trip! i agree, 1969. i was so very "proud" of our aggies who showed up for this bowl game! i just got home from the airport and i can't wait to see how we looked on tv. but we aggies were rolling "deep" up in the atl, far better than the first cb and the 2 classics against scsu in the now obsolete georgia dome...

Man, the wife and I had a great time! I saw quite a few of my classmates (Class of '81) and former teammates. I will say that we certainly held up our end of the attendance load!
No matter what they say, Broadway is The Coach of the Year and this is without a doubt the Team of the Millenial.

This might had been play of the game. BIG TIME PLAYERS MAKE Big time plays This was one of two great plays for me...Mac's interception was the defensive play of the game and Bells catch at the end was the offensive play of the day. Now don't get me wrong, there were a lot more "great" plays on boths sides but for me, those two were momentum changers. If Mac lets his guy catch that ball, they get momentum and if Bell misses that ball we are struggling to score the go ahead touchdown. Big time players make big time plays when they are needed. Shout out to our offensive and defensive lines. We allowed one sack to the FCS leaders and pressured Kincaid all day with four down linemen.
Job well done

Grambling was better than I thought.
The problem for them was we were also better than I thought. Had we executed a little better the score would've (and should've) been more like 38-14. To not play your best game and still come out ahead against a top team is something.

The key for me was, we were able to limit "Mr. Excitement" Marquez Carter to six carries for 12 yards. Other than the defensive miscue that allowed him to score on the wheel route, he was highly ineffective.
However I did have a huge problem with continuously punting and kicking to him, I was just waiting for him to break one and have momentum shift to other side of the stadium. Thankfully we were able to minimize his effectiveness there as well. I wish all BCF football the best but his performance may be to his detriment just as much as Tariks (295 yds, 3 TD) was to his to his advantage 2 seasons ago.
I guess this all boils down to the fact that, "we do chicken". We're going to stop the run and if you beat us with the pass than more power to you.
We statistically dominated this game from T.O.P (35-25)to 3rd down conversions (9-18 to 5-13) to penalties (WE HAD 2 FOR 10 YDS) impressive. Just didn't translate to the scoreboard which can be attributed to the stage, and we scored more than our opponent and that's all that matters.
Folks it's been a long time even during the Hayes era that teams have to be worried about the vaunted A&T offense, we used to be so "Blue Death" dominant and just "3yds and cloud of dust" you to death to the tune of 8 to 9 wins per season.
We're not as pass happy, but to me we are a perfect combination the old Billy Jo FAMU offenses of the 90's and SC State defenses of forever, lol. Right now in order to beat A&T, opponents go in knowing they have to play a perfect game, which works to our advantage because they are prone to make mistakes that we capitalize on. You could almost handicap us 7-10 points per game that other teams will gift us, just because we get off the bus. That's how dominant, focused, and prepared our program is currently.
I'm so used to thinking we had to play perfect (i.e. '99 FAMU) in order to win, it's nice to be on the other side of the coin. Hope we stay here.

It was an Aggie Takeover in that Dome! We are really getting well oiled! The Team in the Uniforms, The Band, in the bright crisp uniforms and Staff with recording Mics and cameras ect, and The Aggie Nation had that whole side!
Man you could see the difference!
Enrollment has to spike once the Youth see the Aggies on the Move!

The B&GMM's Hype Man asked for and Aggie Pride during the halftime show and the response was deafening! It surprised yourself!

Have to tip my hat off to Aggie Nation. It was a special feeling that I'm not sure I have the words to describe. It reminded me of why I fell in love with Old School A&T that true Pride and Passion with not a care in the world. The TOTAL PACKAGE was on full display this weekend.
Between the game and Day/After Party it was well worth it and I am ready to do it all over again.
