Wouldn't be awesome if Raynard got the POY award? I mean not only would A&T have the inaugural recipient in Cohen, but also have the 2nd as well...

who else can top him or what has been done this season except Parker, his offense is the Meac starting lineup he's got to be a sure beat.

If you evaluate Raynard's body of work this year, he should get it but somehow I think Newton at Howard will get it. He had a good year on a sorry team but I think "his story" is what some folks will vote on not his stats.

And Raynard has had the better season. ------------------------------------ But in terms of the MEAC OPOY.... I think it's Raynard as well. Newton's Rookie of the Year will suffice, but at the end of the day... Raynard led A&T to a win over NCCU. Caylin could not. And he couldn't get Howard over the hump against a struggling Hampton team in a rivalry game. Not to mention that Raynard led all of FCS in passing efficiency for most of the season and finished the regular season 3rd. The data & the results say Raynard.

Hall passed for over 3500 yards, 41 tds, and only four picks and completed 65% of his passes. Also ran for over 400 yards and eight tds.
D2 or not, pretty sick stats.

I think Hall is gonna win this. The way I see it, this award virtually puts FCS and DII black college football on the same footing (which I think is wrong). But based upon this flawed thinking, they will equate DII/CIAA stats to FCS/MEAC stats.....when you put all of this together - advantage Hall.

What does these numbers say about competition I believe the voters will look at this differently.Put Raynard against his competition what would his numbers be, or vice versa. I think it muddys the water if it goes any other way. Raynards are comparable or better than some FBS QB's but Im sure they are not considering him for their awards.

I think the numbers would be the same. You also have to take into account the supporting cast and the fact we didn't exactly play a murderer's row schedule.
I would hope they wouldn't get into hypothetical "well if he was playing on that team" type of thinking though. I'd prefer they just look at whatever criteria they're supposed to look at and make a vote.
No matter who you're playing against it's pretty hard to have either Raynard's or Hall's stats, but Hall's are absolutely out of the stratosphere.

The same way there has never been an offensive lineman to win the Heisman Trophy. The Big Uglies don't get that type of recognition.

Raynard is 26-0 as a starter in his career. That's crazy!
