Looks like we are well on our way to a Long Island connection lots of talent in that area...this is starting to remind of the upstate NY connection we had in the late 80's early 90's

Speaking of New Jersey, a legitimate 6'3 guard playing at South River High school could draw some interest.
His name is Derrick Whitaker, the brother of Aggie Fredrick Whitaker, also known as Terrence Jenkins' line brother and business manager.
He’s well on his way to having a 2,000-point career at South River, with a career average around 20 ppg.
We definitely could have inroads to this one.

New York basketball is not dead by a long shot, as proven by St John’s lately. (2/3 of that roster is HOMEGROWN.) There are A LOT of mid major level players in perennial programs in that area, and I’m glad we’re getting a share.

Any possibility of signing some 6-8 and above that are not projected as "works in progress"??

Hope we are still looking at the local talent. We have a few teams in the Final 4 of the state playoffs that are right on our doorstep

Hope we are still looking at the local talent. We have a few teams in the Final 4 of the state playoffs that are right on our doorstep The only local men's teams left are Smith and Eastern Guilford. E. Guilford SHOULD have beaten Cox Mill in the 3A State Championships. But 6-3 star player Jaylen Alston went 11 of 24 from the FT line in a 70-66 loss. E. Guilford is motivated and looks really good as an team again. Alston signed with Gardner-Webb after originally verbally committing to SCSU. While his shooting has improved, he plays the 4... so the jury is still out on whether he can be an effective 2 at D1 level. Cox has 6-6 Top 50 recruit Wendell Moore, Jr. and 6-7 UNC G signnee Rechon Black. The Smith/Cox Mill 3A semifinal game at 6 pm Saturday in Winston will be an instant classic. Jamarcus Burton is a 6-5 G prospect from Charlotte Independence with a number of mid-major offers. They will play Rocky Road in the 4A semifinal at 4 pm. Not a lot of bigs coming out of NC this year. But like every year... always some talent coming out of NC and the Triad.
