It's Thanksgiving morning. The wife is cooking. So while surfing around I found this pic of Jacksonville State stadium. I would like a long press box with suites on our visitor's side. I can imagine Aggie Stadium looking like this. Happy Thanksgiving,BDF!

If someone would channel our momentum into a project plan and stakeholders 'commit' to it, we can have that field.
Grambling laid down a $1.5M turf field after their CB win last year.
We need less talk and more committed action.

I think that this could be done with the right amount of investment from both the University the fanbase/boosters. I think that the endzone/gateway complex and a new track are the only upgrades on the books for Aggie Stadium for a while, but a building (with club level) for the West stands along with possibly expanding the skybox that we have already would make Aggie stadium the top of the MEAC

It's not money holding us back, it's the mindset that WE CAN'T DO IT.

It's not money holding us back, it's the mindset that WE CAN'T DO IT. I think we have to be focused about 2 things with a project dream like that: 1. What is accessible to us? 2. What does that realistically get us? The SkyBox was approx $4.5 million. So you're looking at $10-12 million to do a long version on the visitors side. Or $10 million to do the endzone/office facility. And we have the $1.5 million for the track that we're scrapping to finalize. Being real... I'd rather do an 80-100 yard practice/indoor track facility next to Aggie Stadium to keep our football team off the Aggie Stadium turf, keep the T&F program from having to lease the JDL Track in Winston and allow just about every Olympic sport a location to practice in the winter/down periods. And talk about a boon for recruiting! But I can dream just like y'all!

Our AD wants a new field house with suites in the horseshoe part of Aggie Stadium, built into the hill.
I believe it’s on the list to be built in the next phases of construction on campus. It may also be partially funded by state funds, thanks to the academic/teaching element involved.

I’d build the facility there or behind war memorial. Either that, or move the softball stadium behind War Memorial to build that facility.

I try never to spend somebody else's money. Plus, I don't know if our athletic department is barely getting by or rolling in cash! That said, here's my wish list:
1. Hire more marketing staff to promote every athletic event. Let's fill up the current Aggie Stadium before we start adding more seats. Plus, the addition of more marketing staff could also promote basketball. As our men's basketball team improves, we should sell out Corbett too.
2. Indoor practice facility. This will help our athletic program and help recruiting.
3. Landscape the "Fanzone." Either replace or paint the chain fense and level and pave the tailgate sections. This is easy to do tomorrow!
4. Put up more ticket booths around the stadium on game days. Make it convenient for fans to buy tickets
5. Add more concession stands in Aggie Stadium. I never buy food or drink in the stadium because the lines are too long.
6. Put 8 -10 foot high championship banners and player posters in the main entrance to the stadium.
7. Build a new entrance to the stadium that includes historical information.

I like that wish list MB1969 and as stated some of those things are definitely "doable" on the Fan/Booster level. An Indoor Facility would be Epic with the current land we have, I would relocate the Softball field and have the building run along Sullivan street which could connect to the endzone complex. plan B would be a stand alone building where the on the current band practice field (sorry BGMM)
Speaking of which anyone have access to rendering of the facility that was presented some time ago by the Athletic Dept?

We could also look to the City Council and Guilford County Commissioners for help funding the facility, especially if it has the ability to host indoor track events. You know Greensboro loves hosting major track events.

The Machine would definitely use the facility for field practice. Speaking of which, they should be on the list for a new facility on the land behind Brown Hall. I gotta check the BOT notes to make sure.
