It's not often to see football players AND coaches both on and off the field talk so much trash openly with no filter to the opposing teams players and coaches. NCCU treats us like a bunch of PUSSYcatS. I still remember them chanting "Fu*k A&T during their warmups last year. They don't respect us - respect is earned right. Regardless Of QB situation, they don't respect our football program and I believe they won big time with in State recruiting yesterday. They're in our heads...
On Another note, I Guess We'll Have A Better Appreciation For Raynard next season, huh?

Central's team looked unbelievably fast yesterday as if some of their fast guys had better than 4.2 speed! They seemed to know the play before the snap. The way their linebackers played was amazing. Although Bamiro was not too accurate, pass coverage was like a glove. The one play Bell made reminded me of Moss at Marshall. Even on that play the pass was horribly placed. I don't know Mack's formula for beating us but it has to be something beyond the emotions of a rivalry. My last grieving thought on yesterday....

The coaching staff know what to go after during the off season, DBs, DBs, AMD MORE DBs!!! The offensive line can use a little help as well.

We're a long way from the level we need to dominate the FCS or beat NCCU. Depth...that's what we need. We learned that this year. We had 3 decent QBs at the start of the season and limped to the end.

Our football went into this game lacking confidence in our QB play. The defense lost their energy when they realized Femi couldn't get the job done. Broadway and his staff have done a great job this year. Central has been one of the few teams in the MEAC with a legitimate QB. A few better D-Backs next year and a healthy QB and we will be rolling again. Femi should not shoulder the blame a loan. I don't hear anyone blaming our best receiver for dropping that TD in the end zone that should had been and easy catch for Keys. That one pass hurt Femi confidence not only that the O & D line's did not play their best and also, As much as it hurts me to say this The Kid was dancing a little too much in this game when he should have been hitting the holes. So their is a lot of blame to go around hear so let's be real about this. When The Kid hit the holes he was getting 6 to 7 yards a pop but for some reason he started dancing and then the OC went away from the run. Richmond is not going to be forgiving this weekend. Let's get it right this time guys.

How do we even recover to practice after that whooping we took for a playoff game? not easy to do, that's for sure. but our guys did bounce back after losing to central last year and played extremely well at the cb. hopefully they can do the same in the playoffs. some of that hurt will go away if we win a first round playoff game...

I totally agree with this statement! After a few series, I saw the air go out of the team because the QB was not confident, nor effective.
Just my opinion!

Let's get it right this time guys. I definitely agree that one player should NOT shoulder the blame...IT WAS A TEAM LOSS. We have a shot at redemption, just like we did last season. We don't have Raynard, so we need to quit focusing on that and dwell on the playmakers that we DO have...Cohen, Taylor, Gardin and others. I still believe that Broadway can put together a great game plan. Richmond is NOT better than Kent State, whom we defeated on their home field, so I see no reason why we won't beat these guys on Saturday. What other HBCU could pull this off BUT US??

For what it's worth, Richmond blew out the University of Virginia. But I believe constantly rating our opponents based on how they theoretically would fare against Kent State as opposed to how WE match up against them isn't effective. It only serves to have us look at the matchup incorrectly.

I agree with a lot you guys ,this was a team loss . IMO that INT should have been taken to the house . Keyes should have definitely caught that pass on the goal line , it went right through his hands and bounced off his helmet .Femi's passes were off the mark and he focused on Keyes too much. Cohen was dancing around too much ,just like he did in the SCSU game .SCSU and NCCU play very disciplined football on defense ,the cut back is not there ,in those cases he's got to take whats there and not take a loss dancing around .Cartwright would have hit the line and bowled his way for a couple of yards ,but I don't think he had any carries ,that's on the OC . I thought the secondary actually played better except for a few instances when they blew the assignments . Special teams was the only bright spot ,the kicking game was good and Ghardin had a couple of good returns .
The offense sputtered ,which kept the defense on the field far too long and NCCU just surgically picked us apart .Our key players ,and the coaches ,including Broadway picked a bad day to have a bad day . It's happened the last 3 years ,the game before Central we played lesser opponents and played down to their level ,but come away with a win ,and then we go into the NCCU game flat ,that's on Broadway . We can win this next game , we seem to be evenly matched because of injuries ,with a great game plan and great execution ,nothing less . As Broadway says "if you make a good play ,keep playing ","if you make a bad play, keep playing", we just gotta keep playing . AGGIE PRIDE

You made some excellent points. Actually, I'd plan to make some of the same points later this evening. For example, I reviewed the game and Cohen did do too much dancing behind the line of scrimmage looking for a hole instead of taken what he could get. Also, I think Cartwright would have hit the hole as quick as he could and gotten 3-4 yards a carry. From a coaching point of view I think that strategy would could have loosen up NCCU's defensive line so Cohen could have come in later and gotten some long runs. Whereas I do think a healthy Raynard would have been an upgrade over Femi, I don't think Femi's play was the major thing that cost us the game. I think our offensive strategy walked right into NCCU's plan to defend against us and we didn't make the necessary adjustments to counter their defensive strategy. NCCU's defensive front is quick and I keep waiting for us to go to quick runs and quick passes to loosen them up. Also, I was shocked when Keyes didn't catch a ball that went right through his hands and hit him in the face. Plus, the refs missed some pass interference calls against NCCU, one of which when the NCCU DB turned Keyes around so he could catch a 3rd down play yet there was no flag. I could go on but the game is over so I won't. Instead, I'll look toward this week's game against Richmond.

“I think we had the mindset coming in that we wanted to crush them,” said Bell after the game. “We wanted to get respect from the conference and from those guys. We didn’t get any respect from the media the whole year. This is the way we felt, and it showed out here. We felt hungry and we felt disrespected.” “We work hard, but we never get no props,” said senior NCCU defensive end Frederick Henry-Ajudua, who had the only sack for the Eagles. “We never get the comments from the media. We’re always the ‘underdog.’ That’s the word they use for us. So today we had to show them, we ain’t underdogs for three years. We can’t be underdogs for three years.” theundefeated.com/features/big-n-c-central-win-puts-eagles-in-air-force-reserve-celebration-bowl/
