You don't want to get ahead of yourself with the 2019 season just around the corner, one that looks very promising ,but you can't help but get excited by the prospect of 2020 if we can get all the commitments signed. This class looks to have a lot of potential. no longer will i get all hyped up over a recruiting class in any of our sports, including basketball. i was expecting a lot of "fireworks" from this year's newcomers on the men's team but so far, they've only been giving off a few "sparkles".
i should've learned that lesson from some of our past football recruiting classes, but i didn't. so now i'm trying to stay cool until the newcomers prove themselves in an aggie uniform. i'll reserve judgement on this impressive women's class (on paper) until i see them play in an aggie uniform. until then, i shall remain calm...

Raoul is reporting that Jordan McLaughlin 5'6 FR. PG from Mercer is transferring in to A&T this semester. I find this interesting.

Something must have happened at Mercer. She had worked her way from 10 minutes per game to over 30 minutes per game in December. Although she is from Charlotte.

We lose a lot of talent and experience this year but sign six recruits...do you think we take a step back in 2021 is the question? I like these recruits and the future...

No because we have Winters & Pack to build around and Walton & Boyd now having major experience. I would look for one of the freshman to start or play a major role in a 7-8 lady rotation

Both Mikayla and Telly will be gone next year......we definitely need a point guard for next year. Mercer is a predominately white religious school in conservative Macon, Georgia. The decision to move to T may not have been that difficult.....just sayin'.

I like these recruits and the future... i agree. and even though boyd is not getting a lot of ink, she can easily step right in as our starting pg. i watched her play at vcu, she's "legit" and has a nice handle...

Just looking at McLaughlin's stats at Mercer......she's a PG that likes to shoot. She also makes a lot of turnovers. Mercer was losing a lot of games. I have a feeling the coach made a switch in the lineup which she wasn't feeling. THIS IS ALL HYPOTHETICAL THINKING BY ME - ZERO PROOF OF ANYTHING.
I will say this - although not impossible, it is difficult to run PG as a freshman at a D-I program. I have a feeling she may have been out on the floor doing too much. Factor that in with consistently losing and the freshman blues from leaving home, it's a recipe for "GETTING OUT."
She will be a benefit to our program, but some adjustments in her game will be paramount in order for us to win with her potentially running point. I get the sense the first thing we have to do is tell her we have enough talent on the team to win without her overextending herself on the court. It's a learning process, especially with a freshman PG.....I'm optimistic things will work their way out.

I definitely believe Kennedy Boyd is the clubhouse leader for the 1 spot for 2020-21. She is learning how Coach Rob wants her to play defense this year. That's an internship in and of itself. But just like I told you that Tyler Maye was the player to watch for an immediate impact on the Men's side.... the player to watch in this class out the gate is D'Mya Tucker. Just remember that we had this conversation.
