And one more thing, we know the school will announce the Spring Day Game ASAP. It's been mentioned that it's going to be April 2nd. What's not guaranteed is if there will be any of the previous fanfare that has been present in years past around the game.
However, if we just go by the social media posts present, this has gotta be the most visual Aggie Football has been in quite some time. And if we compare to what our future CAA conference mates are doing regarding football posts, what we're doing seems to be in line with what they're doing. No one really seems to be giving out the detailed posts we'd all like regarding the happenings of spring practice. I guess that makes sense. I'm not even sure if any of them will be streaming their Spring Games.
Would it be nice to also have detailed articles of new players and other insights from Brian's SI team or an interview, or 2, from Coach Washington regarding this team and any updates regarding his staff? Of course.
But it would be inaccurate to say that A&T is not trying to get Alumni excited about the team. They got season tickets to sell and an $18.91 Club to promote.

And can we PLEASE stop comparing ourselves to what the SWAC is doing? Good grief! And for as much hype they have had, have we forgotten what happened against SC State or have you all peeped their records against Southland Conference schools?

Dont cherry pick a sentence without context. That sentence you quoted is clearly PART of me saying that "I prefer winning instead of a hyped up Spring Game on social media". That is all. Why would you even think those two concepts are mutually exclusive? As if fans actually need to choose between one or the other. My point is we went undefeated and had about the same coverage that year of the Spring game. Sure, making pretty videos is a thang, but I think you are putting too much value in it. You are actually putting more value in it than every school in the CAA, LOL Last football post on each of the following schools official page and Twitter relating to Spring ball. A&T - Signing day article.. Twitter: 16 pics and those tweets are linked back to main website about Spring ball, meaning we have 4 post about spring ball on the main athletic site. Hampton - Joining CAA article, nothing on Spring ball..Twitter:NOTHING at all W&M - Announced the date 6 days before the game and then posted pics after..Twitter:Nothing Townson - 1 article about Spring practice about to start Monmouth - Football hirings, nothing on spring ball...Twitter:Posted spring ball schedule back on the 9th, since then, nothing StoneyBrook - Nothing on Spring football...Twitter: nothing Deleware - Coverage is just OK. 2 articles about Spring Ball..Twitter:Nothing Main - really hyped it up on Twitter, but only announced on website Villanova - nothing really, just hyping up pro day on twitter Elon - The most impressive. They did a "spring overview" by position AND linked them all on twitter back to their main website. This is what you probably want A&T to do. Your expectations are a little high considering the time of year and what everyone else is doing, but I understand you want A&T to be the best and lead in everything.

And for those thinking "I dont see the tweets on the main sports site??". Tweets from the General Athletics is on the home page. Tweets from the football twitter are on the football page.

Like I said, if you are content with how this university is covering its football program, I am happy for you.
Just be consistent.

I saw you delete your post after you looked on the page and saw the twitter feeds, LOL. But you probably want what Elon is doing. Their covering Spring ball like its in season. They are the only school doing that.

Here's my question...is the lack of Spring football coverage due to: a. The football staff's desire for confidentiality b. Inadequate media resources c. Athletic Department's indifferent?

You can scratch off a. Coaches dont really care(unless your name is Deone Sanders). They are just trying to do their jobs.

Daily interactions from the coach / staff via social media

And for as much hype they have had, have we forgotten what happened against SC State or have you all peeped their records against Southland Conference schools? Yes, you are correct they lost to SC State and their record sucks against the Southland Conference. But did they lose to SC State and suck against the Southland because of their social media presence or because their football team wasn't as good as their opponent. I don't think tweeting clips of practice or interviews with potential starters, or any human interest angles displayed online, caused a WR to drop a pass or defender to miss a tackle or kicker to miss a kick. Times they are a changing and I just think it IS possible in this scenario to have your cake and eat it too. What are the possibilities if you have a winning football program AND a massive social media presence? Your program becomes more attracrive to not only potential recruits but also potential corporate partners. I have to believe at N.C. A&T we are able to walk and chew gum at the same time. The resources may not be in place currently, but that's something that needs to be addressed going forward because we're in the age of Information and we need to adjust our approach accordingly.
