Get this: North Dakota State has a open date on September 3. They were supposed to play Western Carolina but WCU opted to play East Carolina for a bigger payday. NDSU has not yet replaced this game. They only have 10 games. Could it be? Nah. Really? Nah. Maybe? Home and Home? www.gobison.com/schedule.aspx?schedule=5&mobile=skipwww.inforum.com/sports/bison/3675880-western-carolina-buys-out-2016-ndsu-season-opener-football-gameFrom the article: Finding those games hasn’t been easy for NDSU in recent years, in light of its run of FCS national titles, which is now at four straight. Still, Larsen said he doesn’t expect the FCS guarantee to be much different from years past. NDSU paid University of The Incarnate Word (Texas), Delaware State and Prairie View A&M (Texas), its past three non-conference home FCS opponents, at least a $190,000 guarantee. “Most schools have an idea of what they need for a guarantee,” Larsen said. “Ours has gone up a little bit but I don’t think the fact we’re trying to fill a game will make it that much higher.” Would you do it for a $250,000 guarantee?

Hell, if we can play UNC, Tulsa, Kent and COASTAL CAROLINA, there's no need to shy away from those FCS Bison. They just may have bitten off more than they can chew. Playing them in the season-opener is probably the best time to beat them. Just note that there is a 99% probability that it will be a one-game contract, and $250,000 is a bit low to have to fly to North Dakota.

I don't want to play them. What's our incentive. Out of conference games should line our pockets or be very winnable FCS games just in case we need the tiebreaker points for a bid to the CB...which can line our pockets

Remember, we played them in basketball earlier this year. So there is already a connection between schools.

I wouldn't schedule our guys for another long Midwest trip. A neutral site would be better.

I was talking this over with my wife a few days ago and she made a point that attendance and ticket sales for next season should go up because its a more attractive home slate. She has a point when you look at who should be coming into Greensboro this fall and being a fairly attractive home slate of games with all except one game being in the much warmer weeks and months: Labor Day Opener TBA Hampton Norfolk FAMU (Homecoming) SCSU Of course the MEAC could very well derail the logical schedule as they have before with substitute dates and changes. Hilton is not going to let us have 4 home games and 7 on the road. And yes, Hampton/Norfolk State back to back at home as well as GHOE/SC State back to back at home going along with our CB victory/national championship should have the Game Zone buzzing all season. I read last night where FAMU set a program record with 3,600+ football season tickets sold last season. Does anyone know if we are in that ballpark?

ticket prices should not be raised yet “again”. i mean, at some point we’re gonna out price our market. our attendance figures are already lagging way behind what they used to be during the hayes era. me personally, i’m not in favor of raising ticket prices “yet again”. we’re playing fbs money games now, no need to make our fanbase suffer over higher ticket prices again, we’ve already suffered enough...
