We need that bye week coming off of the two FBS games to heal before going into MEAC play. It is never a good strategy to have the bye week at the beginning of the season!!! I know that this schedule is just a draft but I say screw the OOC FCS game if it is coming off the two FBS games. Can't say "screw the OOC FCS game" or we may be in a position where we have to go undefeated in the MEAC. Take away our win over Elon and we would have been sitting at home instead of playing in the CB. That I can understand But if you look at that Schedule or Draft, You will see that we start MEAC play after playing two FBS programs with out a Bye week of rest!!! Hale if we put and FCS OOC game on that bye week you will not have to worry about playing the CB because we will be at Home ! A bye week at the start of the season is a recipe for doom when you have two FBS teams and one FCS team or any team in a row and then you start MEAC play ! I will take my chances going undefeated in the MEAC before giving up that bye week before the MEAC Season. Come on now let's be real we are good but not that good . And the MEAC is not as weak as you may think !!

Regarding the Norfolk State schedule release, check out this quote from their athletic director. pilotonline.com/sports/college/norfolk-state/football/spartans-announce-travel-friendly-football-schedule/article_4157f80d-425b-5d3b-93c0-685f7f674797.htmlThe Richmond game, which will earn NSU $75,000, is the only guarantee game on the schedule. The Spartans played in two such games last season, earning $635,000 to visit Rutgers and Marshall, games they lost by a combined score of 108-20. Athletic director Marty Miller said the school has embraced “a different scheduling philosophy” for scheduling over the next few years, hoping to generate revenue by filling Dick Price Stadium for games that will interest the program’s fan base. William & Mary is scheduled to play in Norfolk next season, and also on the horizon is a home-and-home with James Madison beginning in 2017. “I think it’s great for the Hampton Roads community for these teams to play each other,” Miller said. “I’ve been trying to play them for years.” Last season, with home MEAC games against Hampton, North Carolina A&T, Savannah State and South Carolina State, NSU averaged 8,206 fans per game. The Spartans played all four non-conference games, including one across town at Old Dominion, on the road.

Starting times for all games on the 2016 schedule will be announced later. SC State may have a tiny chance to shock the world vs. UCF or La. Tech which is why I hope Broadway/Hilton schedule an OOC FCS and not a Div. II opponent. The potential Celebration Bowl money and exposure is too much to miss out on based on bad scheduling.
