The game before homecoming(Norfolk) is the one that you have to promote hard. Its always tough to get people through the gates the game before homecoming. Imo, it's the home game after GHOE that gets lowest attendance.

The Norfolk State game should be Labor day Weekend. Playing that game in that time slot could pay off well at the gate. Where would we put the OOC FCS game that we need to win in the event of a tiebreaker? That game could be the PreHOE game.

We just need to get an FCS OOC game. I don't care where it falls. The attendance for that game is gonna be what it's gonna be. The attendance I'm the most concerned about is Aggie attendance in the Celebration Bowl. If 9000 fans come to see A&T beat Gardner Webb in Aggie Stadium.....and that leads to 30,000 folks seeing us at the Celebration Bowl again, I consider that a short-term loss for a long-term gain.
We need to call Davidson, Campbell or Gardner-Webb with a quickness and get a game hammered down for 2016.

Imo, it's the home game after GHOE that gets lowest attendance. If thats the correct game order it's SCSU and its a few week after and not 1 week after. It shouldn't be as bad. The game to focus on if that order of games is correct is Norfolk. I tend to agree with you if the game is the following week and a uninteresting opponent. As far as Norfolk being on Labor day, the MEAC sets conference dates. We dont have a say.

I'm with you on the FCS OOC game...I'd have these schools on speed dial until we got one scheduled. As for the other home games, except for Homecoming, I would be promoting the hell out of every game. This is the year to pull out all the marketing and promotional tricks to get fans in our stadium. We are coming off a national televised bowl game with one of the nation's most electrifying running back. If we can't get folks to come out to our home games this coming season, we are doing something real wrong. By the way, if I was running A&T's sports marketing effort, I would have started promoting next season's games last week! I know it's basketball season but a lot of our football fans are not basketball fans. I'd be on social media now even if I didn't have the full schedule, dates or teams. We need to make money off of last year's team success.

I know the subject of this thread is the 2016 home schedule. However, Kent State athletic department's press release yesterday confirms what we already knew. Aggies play at Kent State on Saturday, September 10 with kickoff time to be determined. My 1st cousin resides in Cleveland, OH and sent this to me. www.kentstatesports.com/news/2016/1/15/FB_0115162227.aspxKent State recently released its non-conference schedule along with home and away Mid-American Conference opponents for the 2016 football season. Conference game dates and season ticket information will be announced at a later time. The Golden Flashes will play all four of their non-conference games in September and will open the season visiting a Big Ten opponent for the second straight year. In matching up with Penn State (Sept. 3) and defending national champion Alabama (Sept. 24), the Flashes will take center stage at a pair of 100,000-seat stadiums. Fans can head to Dix Stadium on back-to-back Saturdays in September as Kent State hosts North Carolina A&T (Sept. 10) and Monmouth (Sept. 17). Both will be first-time program meetings. North Carolina A&T is coming off a MEAC championship and a Celebration Bowl victory. With 12 conference teams in 2016, each MAC program will face all five teams in its division and play three crossover games. West Division opponents include home games against Northern Illinois and Western Michigan and a trip to Central Michigan for the first time since 2004. All three played in bowl games in 2015. MAC East rivals Akron and Ohio, who also made 2015 bowl appearances, will come to Dix Stadium. Road games against the East will include Bowling Green, Buffalo and Miami. The Flashes will be visiting alumnus Nick Saban at Bryant-Denny Stadium for the second time in six years and will head to Beaver Stadium for the third time in seven years. To pre-order tickets for the Penn State and Alabama games, call the Kent State Ticket Office at 330-672-2244. Tickets will first be allocated to members of The Golden Flashes Club, then to the general public. To learn more about The Golden Flashes Club to receive priority tickets, CLICK HERE or contact the front desk at 330-672-2078. Kent State's first spring practice is scheduled for Feb. 16. National Signing Day will be Wednesday, Feb. 3.

Looks like I'm going to be in Ohio on September 10th. That's not a bad drive but if anybody hears about a bus going up, let me know. Not interested in going to Tulsa! Oklahoma is too far away.

My brother lives just outside Youngstown which is about 45 minutes away from Kent State. I know where I'll be that weekend.

I just noticed that Cleveland is just an hour drive away from Kent State so I'll be hanging out there after the game. Great restaurants and a casino too. Now if we can just take care of business on the field this will be a fun weekend.

Just to play devil's advocate:
"Would we (the A&T Fans) be willing to give up a home game to travel to an available & Winnable FCS Team for the sake of having a safety net for The MEAC Tiebreaker/ Celebration Bowl Spot?"

We need that bye week coming off of the two FBS games to heal before going into MEAC play. It is never a good strategy to have the bye week at the beginning of the season!!! I know that this schedule is just a draft but I say screw the OOC FCS game if it is coming off the two FBS games.

Can't say "screw the OOC FCS game" or we may be in a position where we have to go undefeated in the MEAC. Take away our win over Elon and we would have been sitting at home instead of playing in the CB.
