Last night at the Charlotte BOTB it was obvious that BGMM is the top target. They also rose to the occasion as Ruff and crew always do.
Sidenote: The Queen City Battle of the Bands is becoming quite impressive. They had a great line-up this year.
Shaw, ECSU, Miles College, Alabama A&M, NCCU, BCU, Talladega College, NC A&T
Interestingly enough It is obvious to see our influence and sound permeating through the other NC HBCU Bands. Bethune's announcer made a dig at A&T's Band. No doubt October will be circled on the machines calendar. Great way to start out the season.

Well I see now why we (A&T) is ranked #2...it was evident last night. Then when you realize the resources that A&T has, they probably are the best HBCU in the land. I was thoroughly impressed with the performance. AND I understand they had another battle of the bands to attend earlier in the day...simply incredible what they pulled off last night.

wow. we've really come a long way!! 5 years ago our football program was the "laughing stock" of the meac, fast forward to 2015 and we won an meac championship and are preseason ranked #1 in the meac by most polls. now, its the b&gmm that's getting big time accolades with a #1 ranking! our bowling team won a national championship last season and, this year’s a&t newly enrolled freshman class is among one of the most academically talented in a&t history, registering an average SAT score of 920, an ACT score of 19 and a high school grade point average of 3.4. i know i keep repeating myself, but our leadership has literally turned our university around! now this is what i call some serious “aggie pride” right there... Dang! Those were my numbers in HS and I would only be average today? Thats impressive for an HBCU.

Well A&T football fans, how did you enjoy the band's performance Saturday? We're still small but our sound is powerful. So you think?

MB1969 , I thought it was an outstanding show , entertaining from start to finish . I will take our "small band with the big sound " any day over a lot of the larger bands . It's absolutely amazing what they are able to do with the limited resources they have .

MB, that was a great show Saturday night, very hard to beat that... I'm amazed at how BGMM and Staff can put together so many great shows, year after year, week after week.

MB, that was a great show Saturday night, very hard to beat that... I'm amazed at how BGMM and Staff can put together so many great shows, year after year, week after week. The A&T Marching band is a prime example of what you can do if you have people that are willing to work their butts off to be excellent. They returned to campus for band camp 3 weeks early and practiced 10+ hours every day. That's why they looked so well at the Queen City Battle of the bands. As for the halftime on Saturday, they practiced from 5:00 pm to 10:00 Friday night and were back out on the practice field SATURDAY morning at 9:00 AM! This hard work is why our band is ranked as a top performing band every year and...why we don't have 250 to 300 band members. If you were trying to graduate, would you spend this much time and energy in the band for not one dime of scholarship money? Our band is like the Marines...the few, the proud, the B&GMM! That's why I'm such a dedicated A&T marching band fan. I know and appreciate what the students and staff sacrifice to make our fans proud.
