wow, i like all of the respect that our program is getting from most preseason predictions. but i don’t like the “hidden pressure” that comes with such lofty expectations. i’m curious to see how the meac coaches will predict how the season will turn out. i kinda hope that they don’t pick us #1 just so that we’ll have motivation to prove them wrong.
actually, this could be coach broadway’s most difficult year because now he must condition our guys to remain just as “hungry” as we always have been under his watch as “underdogs”. but now, most polls aren’t predicting that we’re gonna be underdogs anymore and that’s what scares me. we now must play with higher expectations on our shoulders than in the past and “psychologically”, that’s not gonna be an easy task for coach broadway...

Lets face it we are no longer and under dogs we will probably be favored to win the conference. Going into this season the best thing that could have happen to us happen last November...There will be no psychological let downs....

The losses to SC State and especially the final game with NCCU has weighed heavily on the minds of many of the players and coaches all offseason. They are looking to prove a point going into this year. Focus won't be an issue.

I'd have to make Morgan State the favorite to win the MEAC since they don't play us or SC State this season.

Don't forget the speech Cohen gave to the team following the Central game. The leaders on the team, and with Quick back, we should be stronger mentally this year.

I hope that we are picked # 1 ! This is what the Players and Broadway & Staff have worked for . The Motivation is to prove the Preseason Prediction Right . As far as "hidden Pressure" there is none if this team is as talented as we think they are ! Talented teams don't feel pressure they preform!

lots of times when guys/gals are predicted to finish #1, they start believing it will come automatically without putting in the same hardwork it took to get to that point. i agree, losing to central last year the way that we did should serve as extra motivation going into this season. if they can stay focused on how the season ended last year and not allow a lesser team like howard or famu to sneak up on us, or hampton or norfolk for that matter, i'd breathe a little easier.
i just hope we don't go into our season "over confident" to the point where we lose a game or two that we ought not to...

I think Coach Broadway has been coaching long enough to do whatever it takes to get this team ready for the season...no matter what the "polls" say. And if the players perform we will have a super year.
What worries me most this year is having a new Offensive Coach. It takes a while to install a new offense and I just hope we are ready by the time we get in conference. As for who will win the MEAC...if we don't go undefeated in the MEAC, I don't care! I think anything less in the MEAC this year for us is unacceptable. We limped into a 5 way tie last year and that sucked. I don't want to be sitting at home in January again thinking about how we let another championship slip through our hands. It will not be easy...we have a heck of a conference schedule this year...that Tidewater stretch will be brutal.

We could have a couple of games were a couple of players are in a funk or just have their head up their but........however we will have talented players on the bench that are itching to get on the field. That fact always exist but sometimes the players on the bench have little to no talent that's not the case any more

We had TWO games last season where we certainly didn't play up-to-par...and they were both conference games and they cost us BIGTIME! Regardless of how talented we are, it's something that all teams have to battle. We can't let this happen again in 2015.

I don't see how they have us 1st. I think SCSU still is the king of the conference until they dethroned.
Its the same 5 team race as last yr. We got 3 ( SCSU, NCCU, BCU)this yr, so our fate is in our hands.

They will play NCCU and Hampton...that's enough have them concerned. true, but they also start their meac schedule playing 3 of the weakest teams from last year (howard, ssu, dsu). they should easily be 3-0 in the conference before they play any real meac contenders. i think a good way of measuring the difficulty of each teams' meac schedule is by "who they don't play" and morgan is lucky not to play us and scsu. whereas we don't play ssu and morgan (who we beat 45-0 last year). so basically we ain't dodging nobody this year. but heck, i'll be honest. as many times that we have loss to scsu over the last 15 years or so (14 times i believe), i wouldn't mind not playing their azzes for a change...
