Dudes athleticism is off the charts no matter his size. He's going to straight up murder the MEAC this season! He actually looked like he gained a little weight to me after looking at those flip catches. Those other backs that people keep talking about didn't run track YEAR ROUND. His weight stays down because of that. If he didn't run track for a couple of years he would easily hit the 185-190 range.

Now that is a downright amazing display of athletic ability and talent... There's really no telling how far he can go, my belief is as far as he wants.

yeah, i think he gained some weight, but its all "muscle", not fat. he'll be even stronger than before and yes, even "faster" than before despite the extra weight. he proved his speed hasn't diminished by finishing 5th overall in the meac outdoor track championship 100m dash. dude is gonna be a "terror" this coming fall...

Is he a Maurice Hicks type talent? I think so. Hicks didn't have to do all that stuff while he was at A&T to get to the NFL. He just ran that rock! Thats all Cohen has to do. A few 300 yard games and he'll get his shot. i agree, monster. however, i think cohen is a different type of back than hicks was. but you’re right, hicks became a “beast” at returning kicks in the nfl and he didn’t do too much of that at a&t. i think i’m on the same page as you, i think cohen is “athletic” enough to make adjustments at the next level to return kicks and punts. however, i would put him in the slot occasionally so that he can gain some experience running routes and catching passes down field. i think cohen is a better fit to play the slot at the next level than hicks was. clearly cohen has excellent hands and he can make you “miss” in the open field better than hicks, in my opinion. that’s why i think he’d excel in the slot at the next level. bottom line, let’s not over work the guy. if he stays healthy and continues to put up the kind of numbers he’s been putting up, he’ll get a shot at the next level. his speed and stats will at least get him a serious look from the scouts. but i’m not so sure if he will get drafted only because the nfl has now “de-emphasized” the rb position in favor of the passing game. we’re now seeing wr’s drafted in the top 10 whereas in the past, that used to be rb’s. so to me, the more cohen can show the ability to run routes and catch passes, the more likely he will be drafted... Agreed. I don't want to see Cohen with a 300-carry season at RB. That amounts to 25 per game if we win the MEAC and get to the Celebration Bowl. That's too much. That said...25 touches per game is a different story. Tarik has 428 total touches in 22 career games (392 carries, 36 catches). It's about 19.5 per game. Based on the spring game, it won't surprise me to see Tarik catch 40-50 balls this year. He can protect himself from punishment better in space as a receiver. If Tarik gets 18-20 carries, 4-5 catches..... and a return here or there in special situations.... I'd be cool with seeing Tarik get 25 combined touches per game.

They are definitely some great non defended catches. At this point are you more impressed with Tarik's back flip catches or Denzel Keyes heavily defended completions? Not down playing the Postal Man Tarik because that man can definitely carry and deliver anything straight to the house at anytime. Show me something heavily defended like Air Mail Keyes and I'll jump on the bandwagon.

Lol! This is offseason fitness training and they are playing around. A lot like a game of horse. I'm sure he's not practicing these catches with the idea it's going to work in a game.

The team is having fun and working out during the summer. The catches show that he has great hands defended or not defended. I'm just glad the team is working together and having a good time.

That's a good sign camaraderie and they are relaxed and ready for the season to start.those type of game of horse and playing around after the workout brings the team closer . Now I feel that they expect to win every game which is a good attitude to have.

if we still had Cartwright(sp)......it'd be the perfect setup....similar to a McCoy & Sproles in the backfield at the same time....then have one split out We still can do that.

The only thing that he would have to really improve at the next level is the blitz pick-up. ..if he can do that then he is in there like swim wear. He's a freak of nature that happens to be short.

right now on tv as i type, i'm watching former duke receiver, jamison crowder who was drafted in the 4th round by my redskins and he's projected to be a "slot receiver" at the nfl level. and check this out, crowder is only listed at 5'8", 185 lbs. while last year cohen was listed at 5'8", 170 lbs, but that was before he apparently gained a few pounds.
i can see cohen putting on enough weight to finish his career at a&t weighing just as much as crowder is now which is 5'8", 185 lbs...(a lot from natural growth)
