I watched McNeil dismantle FAMU single handedly!

He was a great one! He might have been the third-best DE to ever play here (after Dwaine Board and Elvin Bethea).

For the individual single season performance it would be McNeil in the 90's; Dwaine Board made first team All-American twice in the mid-70's and has multiple Super Bowl rings as a NFL player and as an assistant coach; Elvin Bethea ruled the CIAA in the 60's and is in the NFL Hall of Fame. All three played in totally different eras and all three will go down as some of the very best to ever put on an A&T uniform.

And I wasn't trying to take anything away from McNeil...he was a great player here!

And I wasn't trying to take anything away from McNeil...he was a great player here! I totally understand where you are coming from. I didn't have the benefit of seeing Board or Bethea play. But I do think that it's important as the years move on that we use this board as a means of preserving that history with spotlights from time-to-time. The Hall of Fame sites help, too... www.facebook.com/ncatsportshalloffamewww.ncatsportshalloffame.com/home.htmlMcNeil winning the Buchanan Award was huge, though.... C-Mac is the only A&T student-athlete to win a national level award like that in the last 20 years. With it being still historically recent, it was easy to pull info for it. So... we had Elvin Bethea in the 60s.... Dwaine Board in the 70s....Kevin Little in the late 80s/early 90s.... Chris McNeil in the 90s..... now, history begs the question... Who is the next great Aggie pash rusher?

How many career sacks did Kevin Ittle have? Played run and rushed passer... Little finished with 27.5 career sacks... 15 in his senior year (1991)... he's part of the legacy, too.... Nice catch....

Thanks, 4XL!
I see Jim Toon's name on the Hall of Fame site.... but there's no bio link... and I guess that's my point.
If we want current and future generations to understand the history and contributions of the past... we have to make that information readily accessible. So... a little more to do there.

McNeil has been posting on his IG. He’s very much around the program and attended the Celebration Bowl with a bunch of the 99 championship team.
