If memory serves me correctly, didn't our QB throw it to the "6'5 monster" on 3rd down at Central with the game on the line....and he dropped it? I'm not saying that to belittle Keyes - he's great and will be even better...but the notion that he wasn't targetted as the season progressed is not true.
It was Bustle's job to get as much as possible out of our QB's....but if you look at who we had on the field throwing the ball, the argument can be made that he did. Quick has not been a very accurate passer from day 1. He has had some good games (ie. vs Morgan), but too often he just never got the ball where it needed to go.
Whether you disagree with me or not......when you fire an OC after the offensive season we had last year, there's simply no way you don't get questioned to as why. Good luck to our next OC. I hope what he knows what he's getting himself into.

Well I do not think that was the case. How many times did you see a go route thrown to DEZ? or a jump ball to Keyes?

The jump ball to Keyes.....Savannah State.....but Keyes got rightfully called for an offensive pass interference on the play. I WAS AT THAT GAME!!!! You must not have been at either the FAMU or Morgan State games. It was jumpball city for Keyes in those games...with him winning them.
You know good and well that for 3 1/2 games, we had an inexperienced QB in Klugh where anybody was lucky to get a pass thrown to them.
The WR cannot throw the ball to himself. We have to have experienced and accurate QBs who can get it to them. In the bigger games of the past year.......where were they?

I think the offense we put on the field was great last season but, oc's also have to get into a rhythm when it comes to play calling. ..against Central he didn't get into a rhythm that we were accustomed to seeing. But, when he was in rhythm the results spoke for themselves. By my guestimation, this has to be something other than performance on the field.

Hey guys, Bussle is gone and if he was "fired" the school will not hold a press conference to give details about his firing. And quite frankly, I don't care why he left. He's gone and will not be calling plays on our side line next season. Let it go! You guys spend a lot of time and energy debating things that are a done deal. Coaches and players come and go in college ball. And we can spend a lot of time debating that fact or we can accept it and move on. Let's focus on who will replace him and what changes if any we'd like to see. Our offense was good last year but that was last year. We have got to get ready for this year and Bussle will not be there.

@macrhingband because this is a message board...that is what folks do debate, talk, its all fun and games no hard feelings...we can't talk about the next OC because we don't know who he is yet...
@nabs thank you, you help prove my point...you point out 1/2 throws a game to a BEAST...and 0 bombs to the FASTEST player in college football....Im just guessing he could have ran by his guy a few times this year and got lucky and caught a few....maybe he was let go bc he couldn't develop guys at the QB position..who knows..

Dez's hands are suspect. And in that Central game the offensive line was tissue paper which meant the qb had no time to set up to throw to Keyes.
It's disappointing, but it is what it is. Bustle will land on his feet pretty easily.

Our offense was putting up major points and yardage against THE BOTTOM of the barrel. Our offense failed its 2 biggest test. Some will say that the Morgan State game should mean something. It does, but the offense failed in the two biggest games of the year. Even with that being said , there has to be something else. the offense wasn't that bad. Egos can be a killer, I just hope someone kept the playbook.

I figure Coastal was the biggest test of the year.
I note that in the other two games the o-line didn't do its part.

I hear you loud and clear Aggie Monster - in the bigger games of the season, we floundered. However, and folks are free to disagree with me, we just didn't have strong QBs. I understand our O-line may have been suspect, but I vividly remember easy passes Quick flat out missed in the Central and Savannah games. He wasn't good vs Elon. He was 12-32 in the Coastal Carolina game. Our QB play was suspect all year. This is what prevented us from taking it to the next level. I pray Raynard is physically and mentally sharp to compete for the QB position next year. What separates us from being great is the QB position. Even with an average O-line, if the QB can read defenses quickly and make the right pass, it makes everyone's job so much easier on offense.
Quick is blessed with speed, but we need an accurate passer and a quick decision maker to run the show. Quick just appears too limited after multiple years to make our good team a potentially great team......

Quick seemed to have lost a step after the injury as well. Given Quick's obvious limitations I'd say Bustle did a remarkable job making him better.
I simply don't see an on the field performance-based reason for Bustle to be terminated. No point in grasping at straws on that end.

This firing seemingly makes no sense. I'll just put my mind to rest by making up a scenario that Bustle and Broadway had a huge blowout of an argument and Bustle called Broadway a ______!

I would put that high on the possibilities based on the success of the offense this year, LOL I will say this about defensive minded coaches. They all feel like if they concentrated on offense no one could stop them. It's a double negative that they cant seem to see. It's like they think they got the market cornered on good defense and no other team can play it, so we should be putting up 40 every week if you doing your job Mr OC.
