We beat the top two teams in the MEAC.What does that say about us and the MEAC and their staff. We have chosen to be better than MEAC good, maybe our current Coaches are just that(MEAC) good and we need to move on from that mentality. Coach is looking back in his interview because things were easier then and the road ahead is hazardous we have to read the room!

How about the quality of the team and their talent? The coaches are not on field, the players are. They get NO blame in this! This staff has won championships and put players into the PROs. They give you a game plan and plays, it's up the players to execute things. They didn't get it done on a consistent basis. Therefore, you end up with a season like this! The failure to be able to adjust and overcome is on the coaches, how do you blame poor play calling, lack of discipline, poor fundamentals all on the players? These problems are not new to the 2021 season they were a problem in the meac as well that’s why we got lucky and won in 2018 and 19. Now yes to a degree certain players decisions hurt us but at the end of the day it’s on the coaches to display and field a effective, efficient, good ball playing program. No disrespect, but if I was a one of the current coaches, players, and a former player, this would be an insult. I agree with you to a certain point, but poor play calling is only poor if they're not executed properly. We have to give credit where credit is due. The teams we played this year are better than MEAC teams. We have to factor that into our lack of success.

The teams we played this year are better than MEAC teams. We have to factor that into our lack of success. There is always a weak player even among your starters . But it is the COACHES RESPONSIBILITY TO identify and correct/address the weaknesses and not let them continue to happen week in and out , in this case the intire season 🙄 KSU A&T held them to 14 points. They beat the brakes off Monmouth 49 to 17 . Monmouth was a winnable game for A&T from looking at the numbers , HIU was the only team that made us look talentless and they got destroyed by KSU and Monmouth. Again talent was never A&T's problem, A&T's problem was being out coached on the field and in the Coaches Box . Also being a former A&T/WT football player I can tell you that I am not insulted and a lot of the X players I know are not because all of this mess is the truth that played out in front of our eyes this season . I would have been insulted if it wasn't they truth and I don't see it with my own eyes.

John Grass Steps Down As Jacksonville State's Football CoachJACKSONVILLE – After nearly nine years at Jacksonville State and eight as its head football coach, John Grass and JSU mutually agreed to part ways following Saturday's home finale against Abilene Christian. Grass informed members of the media of the decision in his postgame press conference following the Gamecocks' 40-25 win over Abilene Christian on Saturday, which he announced would be his last game as JSU's coach. "First, I'd like to thank Coach Grass for his service to Jacksonville State University, our Football program and to our student-athletes for the past nine years," Athletics Director Greg Seitz said. "Since he was hired as our head coach in 2014, we've experienced new heights in FCS football, including a trip to the FCS Championship Game in 2015." Grass' tenure at JSU comes to an end after serving for eight years as the Gamecocks' head coach and one an assistant. He returned to his alma mater in 2013 as the offensive coordinator on Bill Clark's staff and was named the head coach in 2014 after his 2013 offensive unit broke several JSU and Ohio Valley Conference records. He finishes his career with the Gamecocks with a 72-26 record and having won six Ohio Valley Conference Championships, five of which came in his first five seasons at the helm. "My time has come and gone here," Grass told the media on Saturday night. "It's been a great ride. It's been unbelievable. You can't put into words what has happened here. This will always be my home. We've raised our kids here for nine years. Me and my wife are both alumni. This place has done so much for me that I can't ever repay it. "As an era comes to an end, you look back and analyze it. There are so many special people that made what we've done here happen. God put so many special people in my life, and when we started it His hands have been on this program in so many ways. I like to win and hate to lose as much as anyone, but the lives that have been changed with what God has done for our program has been unbelievable. It's been the best thing I've ever been a part of." The Gamecocks have two games remaining in FCS play, starting with Saturday's 4 p.m. game at Lamar and finishing at Eastern Kentucky on Nov. 20. Following the season, JSU will break ground on a new stadium expansion and will begin its transition to Conference USA and the Football Bowl Subdivision. The move, which was announced on Friday, will see JSU play the 2022 season in the inaugural season of ASUN Football, before playing a C-USA schedule in 2023. "With an exciting time on the horizon for Jacksonville State and Gamecock Football, we feel that the interest in our head coaching position will greater than it ever has been," Seitz added. "We will begin a nationwide search for our next coach, who will lead us into the FBS." jsugamecocksports.com/news/2021/11/6/john-grass-steps-down-as-jacksonville-states-football-coach.aspx

They actually weren't to fond of him prior to our match up. I recall either one of the fans jumping on our board or maybe it was me jumping on theirs, and they indicated he had a propensity of not showing up in big games, and many having mediocre offenses.
At the time is a breath of fresh air to know other teams felt the same way we did about their teams despite then having legitimate success. Fans will be fans.
