I won't knock this proposed game vs the SWAC because I know it's about revenue, however my season will end with our last game vs NCCU. I have no interest in watching another game vs the SWAC.

Decks, I find that hard to believe. Its easy to say now, but your a fan. No way that game is on ESPN and you don't turn it on.

So...if this game actually comes to fruition and A&T ends up in it next season, you're saying that you will not consider attending it or watching it on TV, Decks?

he made sense, but his idea wouldn't work because gsu and southern are not gonna move the date for their bayou classic. that's one of the main reasons why the swac no longer participates in the playoffs. however, i do think it is noteworthy that one of the posters pointed out that by the meac pulling out of the playoffs, it creates a "further divide" between hbcu schools and the rest of the fcs, and that's also my point entirely... But this is about playing the SWAC champion is it not ? Not GSU or Southern U. saabman, the ndsu poster was suggesting that the meac and swac play a championship bowl game with the winner of that game getting an autobid to the playoffs. my point was that would never happen because gsu and southern refuse to move the date for their bayou classic which means the hbcu bowl could not be played early enough for the winner to qualify for the first round of the fcs playoffs. keep in mind that the bayou classic is played thanksgiving day weekend and the swac championship game comes after that...

i'm with decks, my season ends after the nccu game. however, if a&t plays in the "soul bowl", i'll watch it on tv even though i don't support the game. heck, i'll probably watch it regardless because i watch almost all meac and swac games that come on espn. so i'll probably watch it because i watch almost all hbcu games that come on tv. but it'll be just another game in my eyes, just like the regular season and the meac/swac challenge. i don't support pulling out of the playoffs and i don't support an hbcu championship game unless the meac retains its autobid...

I haven't commented much on this, but there are some major logistics they have to get right
Location? Is it always the same place? Does it change every few years?
The Bayou Classic is always Thanksgiving weekend in New Orleans. So I'm assuming the bowl will be after that(just in case either one of those guys wins the SWAC) and will probably NEVER be in New Orleans due to the Bayou classic being there just weeks before.
Will it be a early December bowl? A Christmas bowl? After Christmas? New Years Eve? I hope ESPN understands black people like it warm and we like to party before during and after the game. Attendance if its held outside of New Orleans, ATL, possibly Orlando or Miami, or cities like that will be suspect. Getting all of that right will be so important.
Another thing no one is saying is that if this first bowl is played by two teams that lucked up and won their conferences it would be a disaster for hyping this thing up. Del State and their measly fan base vs PV and the game is in ATL. Ouch!

Ok OSA I see where your coming from. Yes this would put pressure on the SWAC to move there championship game up before the classic and I don't see that happening. ESPN is going to have there hands full pulling this off..

If ESPN cared about Black people attending their game, they would not have the SWAC/ MEAC challenge at noon in Orlando

If ESPN cared about Black people attending their game, they would not have the SWAC/ MEAC challenge at noon in Orlando I agree, ESPN isn't worried about the number of fans in the stands but number of sponsors and fee for their TV ads. Eventually if no one shows up for the game and no one watches on TV, they will pull the plug on their sponsorship. If the schools and conferences get serious at promoting this game it has the potential to be successful. But if we treat is as just another "windfall" and don't promote it, it will fail quickly.

If I attend in person or watch it on tv then I feel like I'm contributing to giving away our AQ to the playoffs. . As much as I bleed blue & gold I refuse to support a venture just because it's black owned. This thing could have easily been setup with our second or third place team. Seriously, my season will end after the NCCU game unless we are in the playoffs. I will not attend nor watch it on tv. Call it my one man protest.

If not, I will definitely watch it on TV. I can understand not being in agreement of this move/venture but, why hurt your own school or self by showing your disagreement. I liken that to the Republican lady in Congress...cannot remember her name but, Obama wanted to fight for women to get equal pay as their male counterparts in the same position or jobs. She voted it down just because....it's Obama and she's republican. It's like cannot see the forest for the trees. Cut your nose off to spite your face.

I BLEED BLUE AND GOLD ALSO AND I WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT THE AGGIES EVEN IF I DON'T AGREE. HOW CLOSE WERE THE MEAC TO BEING RELAVENT IN THE FCS? ONE AND DONE BLOW-OUTS ALMOST EVERY YEAR? BY THE WAY WHO WON THE FCS THIS YEAR,SERIOUSLY, I WAS NOT PAYING ATTENTION!
