Sounds like Coach Pough is saying the money is funny in the MEAC and the money may get funnier with the FBS playing FCS requirements. Some on this site have already alluded tot he fact that is is possible to make money on the FCS playoffs, but not a guarantee. A&T is maybe in the best position of all MEAC schools if the status quo were kept. By "experimental", I'm guessing Pough is saying the agreement being floated with ESPN is in the 1-3 year range. Either way, FCS or BBCU Bowl, it is a risky move. I just hope that there are some smart and creative people at the table for the schools and the conference office. I have never had much faith in the MEAC office. I hope the best in black college business and athletics are in on the discussions.

They have a better grasp of the financial situation in the MEAC than most of our fans. They are also concerned if this is a trend in the FCS that could impact them one day. The more I read on this topic the more I'm convinced we had to do something... And this something has a guaranteed payout, at least for this year.

Is that meaning $2.25 million is split amongst the 9 conferences listed... which would be $250K per conference? Or $2.25 million given to each conference?

They {meaning the Admins.) need to really study the proposal before making the jump. Personally, I am all for making A&T the best of da best. So...........I'm with them to the end.

why would they care about us hell we dont know what is going our self. Because, just like our leadership teams should be doing, they are looking for future trends in order to get ahead of the curb. Heck, if this "takes off," they'll be looking for their own FCS bowl games and will junk the FCS Playoffs themselves.

Interesting post from that thread. Really gives insight on how we are perceived and a good snapshot of the FCS mess.

Yes, he really did. he made sense, but his idea wouldn't work because gsu and southern are not gonna move the date for their bayou classic. that's one of the main reasons why the swac no longer participates in the playoffs. however, i do think it is noteworthy that one of the posters pointed out that by the meac pulling out of the playoffs, it creates a "further divide" between hbcu schools and the rest of the fcs, and that's also my point entirely...

It is $2.25 million split between the 9 conferences which will give us $250k. This payout has been in existence since the BCS was formed and originally started at $160k per eligible conference. This is peanuts! Each conference should be receiving no less than $1 million each.

But this is about playing the SWAC champion is it not ? Not GSU or Southern U.
