WOW ... the title of this is a bit harsh, don't ya think?!? I know, without a doubt, that the players (and coaches) are heartbroken. But let's put this into perspective just a tad .... (1) these are college KIDS .... we still finished stronger than ANYONE predicted .... they all worked their butts off to get better - and it showed! Yes, the season is over! Yes, we lost to NCCU .... "GASP".... but please believe me when I tell you that the players are more disappointed than we are. I know personally my son wanted to go all the way in memory of his very good friend/brother, Jermaine Clarke #52, that was killed earlier this year. And I'm quite sure he wasn't the only one with that goal! They know they didn't play well! They KNOW they should have and could have done better!
perhaps some of you are just made of steel and rise to every adverse occasion - but not everyone is like that. Nerves, butterflies (whatever you want to call it) do get to some people and it DOES affect some people's performance. They got their feet wet in this type of situation now, and will be better prepared for it next year.
I love football. I LOVE watching my kids play football! But it's over this year! Deal with it because nothing you do or say will change the outcome now.
You all supported the team through the 1-10 records already - SO ENJOY THE BETTER RECORD NOW ... and next year it will be even better - with a SOLE ownership of that MEAC title and playoffs!!!
Well said, Mama Suttles!

BT - check out his passing stats and holla back at me...... By the way, folks forget we lost to Coastal by 1 point. We didn't win that game. Folks may want to give us a "moral victory" for only losing to them by 1 point, but the selection committe didn't. That 1-point loss to Coastal counted as equally on the loss ledger as the SCSU and Central games did. But hey, if you like your QB having a passing game of 12-32 106 yds - 0TD, 2 INTs against top-nothced competition.....you must not be a very difficult person to please. You also must not care about winning or losing. You cannot win with a QB playing this poorly against top-level competition. The defense even gave him 5 TDs to make his job easier in that game.... Again - DO YOU PLAY BIG IN BIGTIME SITUATIONS?

Check the passing stats of any Ga Southern or Youngstown State quarterback that won a national championship. The name of the game is to get in the end zone. I don't care how you do it: by arm, by foot, by plane, by train, or by automobile.
If someone scores 3 touchdowns in a college football game, any objective person would say that player had a good performance.

Whats the point thrilla. You act as if we called the perfect game. Neither side did. They just called a better one in my opinion. On top of that the kids still gotta go execute. We didn't. I told Trues right after the game that Keyes should have caught that pass. Hit him in the chest.
On another note, this is a message board. If you dont want to read my ramblings take yo azz to sleep or something. Tired of kats telling us to let things go on a damn message board. You have the option not to read.

So you truly believe Quick's game was exceptional when we played Coastal? Do you believe Quick is a championship caliber QB as is?

Aggie Monster, you can't have it both ways. You can't make statements like "they outcoached us" and get upset when you get challenged. You have the right to make a statement and other posters have the right to respond to you, if they disagree.

3. QB play - Quick had an awful game. As he goes, so goes the offense. He had a lot of trouble reading NCCU's defense as he held on to the ball way too long and overthrew open receivers. He took several sacks because he danced around the pocket unnecessarily. Situational clock management was also bad, especially right before the half when he wasted a down by spiking the ball when he had plenty of time. Hope the coaching staff spends a lot of time working on 2 minute drills with him during the offseason because he wasn't ready for a close game. I don't trust Quick to as a QB.....he's a junior; if you cannot read the defense or make an accurate pass by now, when??? I said this previously -from a passing perspective, he was bad in the Alabama A&M game. He was bad in the Savannah State game. He was bad in the Coastal game. He was bad in the Elon game. He had a good (I'll even say great) game vs Morgan, but his overall body of work doesn't strike me as one that tells me he's a championship level QB. There has got to be a true QB competition next year. Quick should not be pencilled in as our starter for next year. Even those who may be huge Quick fans, you cannot honestly tell me he looks confident on the field....he also doesn't look confident on the sidelines. There were NUMEROUS TIMES his teammates were trying to keep him up after poor QB play. His teammates genuinely like him....he's just not an effective leader. I just don't trust Quick's ability to connect on a crucial pass play when it matters. I'm not taking about 40-50 yards bombs....I'm talking about a 5-10 yard in/out/hook route. When it comes to bread and butter passing, he just doesn't seem to have it. I don't see us beating top-level competition next year with him as our QB. My Brother have you ever played football pass the high school level ? Have you coached any football at all at any level ? Back off the players they are already in pain . Do try to say something good. Man this team has worked their way too the top and all you can do is complain, Com on Man .

My Brother, have you ever read an English book past (not pass) the 3rd grade......I'll answer your question if you'll answer mine. You want something good - WE ARE THE MOST TALENTED TEAM IN THE MEAC. It just takes more than talent to be a legitimate FCS/MEAC threat.

The 2nd part of my post was NOT for thrilla. It was for marchingband telling us to let it go. Thrilla and I are having an educated conversation about the game . Which we have the right to do. I was telling marchingband if he doesn't want to read what a message board is actually for then dont read it. but we should be told to let it go.

When it comes to bread and butter passing, he just doesn't seem to have it. I don't see us beating top-level competition next year with him as our QB. Every position on a football is open for competition..... heck even the RB and the DT position (currently held down by Tarik Cohen and Marquis Ragland) are "open".... We'll recruit every position... even QB. I don't know if Frank Foster will ever play a meaningful down for us at this point. Klugh and Raynard will get their shot. But being realistic about Quick.... he struggled against NCCU. But given the strides that he undoubtedly made during the course of the season, I don't have any reason to suspect that he won't be improved in film study, reading defenses and reacting quicker to said reads by the time spring ball rolls around. It would be a major surprise to see Klugh or Raynard overtake Quick. But just like this fall.... they are going to push him.... even harder with one year under their belt. But there's going to be some competition on the OL with Shawn Best and Darriel Mack coming off of redshirt and guys like Major Kay, Nick Dease and Josh Mattocks at OG to battle for the spots left by Willie Ray Robinson and Ronald Canty. There's going to be a major battle royale at LB with all-time A&T great D'Vonte Grant finishing his career. Guys like Josh Patrick, Jeremy Taylor, Dorian Belcher, redshirt Courtney Edwards (and probably Angelo Keyes based on what I saw Saturday) will get to take on incumbents Lorenz Suttles and Denzel Jones for the starting LB spots. Redshirt freshman Julian McKnight will get his chance to add some size to the DT rotation. Redshirt Florida speedsters Timadre Abram and Amos Williams will get their shot at CB and possibly KR/PR, keeping Tony McRae and Khris Gardin on their toes. Redshirts Malik Wilson and Travis McWilliams will get their chance to make plays at WR for the first time this spring along with Caleb Gabriel and push juniors Denzel Keyes and Xavier Griffin (whom I expect to have big seasons). DeQuan Swann and Kevin Francis will have an opportunity to carve out larger roles at TE (many have been clamoring for this one). Same for Anthony McMinn at FB. If you don't know some of these names yet.... that's OK.... it's good to watch the journey from signing day to graduation day.... and appreciate what these guys (and all of our student-athletes) do for our school. But everyone of these guys has to be substantially better at their role for us to win a championship.... not just Quick.

I never played football.....frankly I wasn't big enough to play it. 1) You don't need to play 10 years of football to tell if a QB has pocket awareness. 2) You don't need to play 10 years of football to tell if a QB is accurate with his passes. 3) You don't need to play 10 years to gauge whether a team has the mental makeup to play big when it really matters.
And when I say team......I'M INCLUDING PLAYERS AND COACHES.

Perfect play call by the NCCU defensive coordinator: LOL.... crazy.... I see why he dropped it, too... he was trying to cradle it against his body and didn't get his right hand adjusted to get his thumb around the ball to grip it and secure it.... which is where the DB probably knocked it out at. It's the difference between hands-catching vs. body-catching. I'm sure Chip Hester has told him that dozens of time this season already. That moment will be the ultimate teacher, though. He'll be working on that in April. Little details.... repetition.... offseason work.... you gotta love the process....
