We definitely didn't get out coached , the OC didn't fumble the ball on the 2 yard line , nor did Broadway not drop the pass inside of the 10 yard line . But they put the team in position for these things to happen ,so I would not say we were out coached . Coaches put players in position to make plays ,the players just didn't execute . ########### Yes...we DID get OUTCOACHED by a Rookie Coach-what a Great adjustment Central coaches made after we ran the ball down their throat on our 1st scoring drive. What kind of defensive coaching was IT that made US LOOK LIKE we hadn't seen central's "quick out" passing package to the white long haired WR on film, because we Never defended IT...no Adjustment!! Is it Coaching NOT TO MAKE an adjustment/change when your QB's lingering knee injury and poor decision-making render him Ineffective in the Critical part of the game when you are trying make a Comeback?? Was it the Players or coaches that made those HORRIBLE play calls that preceeded our Missed FG try in 1st quarter?? And the poor punting and that HORRIBLE pooch Kickoff after our 1st TD- Was a function of COACHING fellas... They played field position, had a Nice possession passing game,GASHED us running the ball with Big RB's when OUR COACHES made "Bad Calls" and they Absorbed the Beating Cohen put on their "A"...nope,NCAA restrictions had nothing to do with this "A" Whupping. A Rookie coach that USES his TE in various ways;that has a SEPARATE Defensive Tackle coach,a Separate Tight End coach, and a Separate Defensive Tackle Coach along with a mobile "heady" QB and a DE (#6) that we didn't Handle All Day... had All to do with this Whupping. Man you need a hug are something. HELL it's not that bad. Dam!!!!

I sat directly behind the NCCU defensive huddle on the first row. I could hear EVERY SINGLE WORD he said. They outcoached us! Period. I would even say that they wanted it more.

What did he say to make you think they out-coached us?
Wouldn't you need to also hear the A&T offensive huddle chatter to cross-reference this?

Excerpt from the NCCU defensive huddle:
"Ok guys, on this next play we're going to let their best player run up the middle for about 30 yards ... and right before he crosses the goal line for the tying score, I want one of you to dive in and knock the ball loose."
Yep. Brilliant strategy.

True, but when what's happening on the field is what he just told them would happen, then you tend to think he was right. I heard every word he told #6 and the guy covering Keyes most of the game. It was all true. Or at least it all came true. Dont forget they fumbled inside the 5 as well. The ball bounced our way earlier. I've said this several times going into this game. We didnt beat anyone worth a flip! It showed.

Okay guys, let it go. We got beat...the dreaded Eagles ruined our hopes of sole position of the MEAC Championship and a playoff opportunity, they made us make mistakes and look bad... but it's over. The sun actually came out this morning and I even heard a bird singing. We will get over this. All this does is deepen our hatred for them Buzzards.
Let's channel that frustration to the Eagles not the guys on our side. This is not the first time (and unfortunately not the last time) we will be frustrated at the end of the football season. We'll win some and we'll lose some...that's how sports goes. And all the bicker back and forth ain't going to change the outcome of last Saturday's game.
Let's look at positives that came out of this game...the underclassmen on our team this year will remember how close they were and how bad it feels to lose and they will work harder...and our coaches will work harder in the offseason to correct those things that hurt us Saturday. But the biggest positive I see is the hope all the Eagles fans have now. They are feeling really great now and think they are the new force in the MEAC. And because they are so confident, they will flood into Aggie Stadium on November 21, 2015 to see their team beat us again. Eagles will fill up the visitor's side of Aggie Stadium (at $35 per ticket) and we will make some money. Oh and I'm expecting us to put a major beat down on them. There's nothing more satisfying than watching a bunch of Eagles pay their money and then go home form Aggie Stadium disappointed and demoralized.

I'm not going to use the choke word..... But as I said before, this team was not ready to seize the moment. Folks are mad because we lost to Central - personally, I don't care if it was Central Virginia we lost to. THE MOMENT IS WHAT OVERWHELMED THIS TEAM.
Personally, I think the team and the staff need a "look in the mirror" moment. Although I have my thoughts about why we lost and what things could have been done better, the overriding concern I have is they let a golden opportunity slip away.
-weak conference schedule -SCSU losing to Morgan -Bethune losing to Hampton
All of these things were handed to us in a pretty bow. All we had to do was beat Central.....we failed.
Could things be better in 2015 and beyond - maybe so; maybe not. However, I need to see improvement from this team in critical situations.
-3rd down conversions -passing accuracy -timely playcalling when you need to get those 4-5 yards -kicking clutch FGs in tight games (not blowouts)
You can recruit all the 5-star athletes you want, but at the end of the day, do they (and the staff that prepares them) have the mental fortitude to withstand adversity when it comes their way??
I can't lie - we got an F in this on Saturday - we just were not mentally strong enough when it was needed in the most crucial of times. MENTAL FORTITUDE WHEN ADVERSITY STRIKES - this is priority #1 we need to correct - from the head coach all the way on down to the waterboy. If this isn't corrected, we will chronically be the 2nd-3rd best team in the conference.
I'm well aware we tied for a 5-way 1st place - but if you felt like a conference champion leaving O-R Stadium on Saturday......

I thought the game changed on a few key points:
1.Special teams - most of the game was played on our side of the 50. Cody's rugby kicks didn't get any good rolls plus NCCU was ready for them. On the other hand NCCU's punter boomed his punts where we couldn't get any returns. The botched return was the dagger in the back for us.
2. Run defense - NCCU ran for over 200 yards on us. A lot of that was due to poor tackling and not being ready for the snap.
3. QB play - Quick had an awful game. As he goes, so goes the offense. He had a lot of trouble reading NCCU's defense as he held on to the ball way too long and overthrew open receivers. He took several sacks because he danced around the pocket unnecessarily. Situational clock management was also bad, especially right before the half when he wasted a down by spiking the ball when he had plenty of time. Hope the coaching staff spends a lot of time working on 2 minute drills with him during the offseason because he wasn't ready for a close game.

More excerpts from the NCCU defensive huddle:
"Ok No. 6, we're gonna put a safety over the top to help out, but I still need both of you clowns to somehow let Keyes get behind you. Trust me: either the QB will miss a wide open throw for an easy touchdown on a post route ... or the QB will throw a perfect pass on a 9 route and Keyes will be unable to hold onto the ball when he falls to the ground."
Once again, brilliant game planning.

WOW ... the title of this is a bit harsh, don't ya think?!? I know, without a doubt, that the players (and coaches) are heartbroken. But let's put this into perspective just a tad .... (1) these are college KIDS .... we still finished stronger than ANYONE predicted .... they all worked their butts off to get better - and it showed! Yes, the season is over! Yes, we lost to NCCU .... "GASP".... but please believe me when I tell you that the players are more disappointed than we are. I know personally my son wanted to go all the way in memory of his very good friend/brother, Jermaine Clarke #52, that was killed earlier this year. And I'm quite sure he wasn't the only one with that goal! They know they didn't play well! They KNOW they should have and could have done better!
perhaps some of you are just made of steel and rise to every adverse occasion - but not everyone is like that. Nerves, butterflies (whatever you want to call it) do get to some people and it DOES affect some people's performance. They got their feet wet in this type of situation now, and will be better prepared for it next year.
I love football. I LOVE watching my kids play football! But it's over this year! Deal with it because nothing you do or say will change the outcome now.
You all supported the team through the 1-10 records already - SO ENJOY THE BETTER RECORD NOW ... and next year it will be even better - with a SOLE ownership of that MEAC title and playoffs!!!

I don't trust Quick to as a QB.....he's a junior; if you cannot read the defense or make an accurate pass by now, when??? I said this previously -from a passing perspective, he was bad in the Alabama A&M game. He was bad in the Savannah State game. He was bad in the Coastal game. He was bad in the Elon game. He had a good (I'll even say great) game vs Morgan, but his overall body of work doesn't strike me as one that tells me he's a championship level QB. There has got to be a true QB competition next year. Quick should not be pencilled in as our starter for next year. Even those who may be huge Quick fans, you cannot honestly tell me he looks confident on the field....he also doesn't look confident on the sidelines. There were NUMEROUS TIMES his teammates were trying to keep him up after poor QB play. His teammates genuinely like him....he's just not an effective leader. I just don't trust Quick's ability to connect on a crucial pass play when it matters. I'm not taking about 40-50 yards bombs....I'm talking about a 5-10 yard in/out/hook route. When it comes to bread and butter passing, he just doesn't seem to have it. I don't see us beating top-level competition next year with him as our QB.
