I don't know if you any of you are familiar with the 1891 challenge, it is a campaign to get alumni to contribute $18.91 to the university. I am going to participate in it. I started to think I could afford to give $18.91 at a minimum every time I get paid through a payroll deduction. Do any of you have this or have any experience setting up a pay roll deduction? Should I talk to my employer or the university?
Thanks!!

The #1891challenge is an alumni driven campaign that first came out of the DC Chapter and its similar to the student's giving campaign for this year. The university's official campaign solicitations are coming out shortly... sometimes alumni must create and lead, because that's what Aggies Do! So thank you for taking up the challenge. Payroll deduction would come from your employer. However, the university can do automatic bank draft post-taxes.You can give Carletta Simmons, the director of annual giving a call at 336-334-7600 x2237 or email her at gcsimmon@ncat.edu to get more information. However, the form is available online at: www.ncat.edu/giving/Online%20Gift%20Form%202.26.14.pdf and you would indicate either Debit/Credit Card or bank draft and select monthly contribution. I have asked Carletta if donors could e-mail & scan the information or fax it back to her. We will be sending out shortly some guidance for individuals who want to give via their employer's United Way campaigns. However, you list the North Carolina A&T Alumni Association, Inc as an outside non-profit for most United Way branches. Monies we receive to the association via United Way will be designated to support the National Alumni Scholars program. (I will be doing my first United Way payroll deduction this year for the association!). We are working to register with United Way of Greater Greensboro for 2015 & beyond. The official address for the National Alumni Association: We are aware that some individuals have also designated the A&T Foundation and the Aggie Athletic Foundation to designate for United Way.
