Although I probably missed 90% of the GHOE events this year ( too old to party all weekend) I thought this was a great homecoming! Here's what I think went great: - The Sheraton is better prepared to deal with our crowd now and even their security was polite. - The charter shuttle buses were fantastic especially for us senior alums -The tailgating area within the Fan Zone had more of a old school block party feel and was great! - The Alumni concert on Friday night was fantastic - The game and halftime performances we exactly what alumni want on homecoming - The Kids Zone finally got some kids to show up
The only small issue I saw was the long line for people wanting to buy tickets the day of the game. At one point it stretched all the way across the bridge over highway 29. Also, the Alumni dance on Saturday night needs some work. There's got to be a decent local band we can get reasonable and keep the admission cost around $25. Get a group that plays lots of Motown but quiet enough to carry on a discussion with friends at your table.
Overall I'd give this year's homecoming an A-. What do you guys think?

Oh I almost forgot to mention the bigger and better Homecoming Parade! When I was at A&T in the 1960s the parade was a big deal and every local highschool band, cub scout troop and club wanted to be in it. This year's parade was huge with a dozen bands and tons of local groups. In recent years if you showed up at the Stadium at 10 o'clock you would have missed the parade but this year it was still going after 11:00. Great job to whomever decided to focus on the parade.

I was tailgating on Laurel but I saw high school bands from DC and ATL in the parade, that's how it used to be, I remember when UDC would come and they didn't even have a football team lol

GHOE on the plots was as big as it ever was and that party was nuts! I couldn't stay long over there but there were flying drones and fireworks being lit this year. There were people also tailgating all over the place all day and into the night.
Most importantly, no one was hurt.
