After shaking off a few cobwebs at the beginning of the game, Quick had a great game, completing 16 of 26 passes for 233 yard and 3 TDs. However my pick is Denzel Keyes who caught 5 of Quick's passes, all 3 TDS and gained 129 yards, including a 73 yarder which, IMO, was the most exciting play of the day.

I gave it to the coaching staff. 7 different people caught passes. We had more than just Cohen running the ball. I love Cohen running, but he was getting the ball toooooo much. When the OC opens up the playbook and gets more folks involved, that only benefits the team's long term prospects. Now granted, it was against FAMU, but this is the winning formula we need to be legitimate players on the FCS national stage.

I've been saying this since the Hampton game...if we throw to Keyes at least 5-7 times a game in a one on one situation, we will beat people to death. Because, eventually he will command a double team and once they double him running lanes open up. See FAMU came with the same gameplan that SCSU had. Kept 8 men near the line of scrimmage if not in the box, but they focused on stopping Cohen....but, guess what, Keyes, Keyes and more Keyes!!! Most defenses in our conference cannot do both...now, I haven't seen BCU defense but, I'd be confident against them as well. We should win out and big. On a side note...I'm thinking we may have to try and run the scores up, if we can, to try and get brownie points in the polls. I say that because, the last 2 games we had an opportunity to pour it on and we kind scaled back and gave the back-ups playing time. Not that I have a problem with getting players (2nd teamers) playing time, but, I really think we have a shot at the playoffs. Albeit, we may have to play in the play-in game and if we win that, they'll probably send us to N. Dakota State.

... they'll probably send us to N. Dakota State. Not if we win BIG the rest of the way. If we win big the rest of the way it legitimizes the Coastal game and puts the SCSU game in perspective for the committee. But first ....MORGAN STATE. All of their losses(except Villanova) have been 3 points or less. And from what I understand starting QB and RB did not play against Villanova.

I'm not worried about the team focus. They've been ready to play week in and week out. Plus Morgan has beaten us for the past 2 years in a row. We have 2 weeks to plan for them. I don't see this game being close......

Until BCU or SCSU loses again we absolutely need to win big if possible. Sent from my SPH-L900 using proboards

I am not a player. I am afforded the opportunity to look ahead. What I do want is the team I cheer and invest in to not look ahead and focus on beating Morgan State's azz. I also hope our AD Earl is looking ahead and putting a competitive bid in place to host a playoff game. I think the last day to place a home game bid is this Friday.

Speaking of looking ahead. A&T might have a chance to host a game if they win out. Does our A&D start looking at putting a bid to host a game? I think if they look at our crowd average 15k and a 10-2 record. the real question is how many fans would show up during the thanksgiving break.

I love my Durham guys Lawrence (speed) and Bullock (reliability), but neither have the size, strength and speed combo that Denzel has. His ability to make plays along with Quick AND Cohen AND Lawrence AND Bullock is just overload for most FCS defenses. Keeping in mind that it normally takes WRs a good two years to transition from HS to college... Keyes is on track to do some really big things next year. We lose Lawrence to graduation, but when Xavier Griffin gets it going as a junior next season..... this offense is going to be absolutely FIRE in 2015.... But for right now.... biggest game of the season coming up against Morgan State....
