No disrespect to klugh but I will take my chances and take a rusty Quick. These have been three long games I have been holding my breathe. Lets get the right guys in place and finish the rest of the games undefeated. Matticks should his presence last week. What is the status on Gardin Khris?
If we go undefeated the rest of the games i would say we had a successful year!!!! I know some u will disagree but i will take it anytime versus the previous years we have had.Especially the 1-10 season where we beat Howard !!!!!!!

Even if Quick come back he might be a little rusty. you're probably right, even though i've heard he's been practicing with the team lately. that doesn't mean he's 100% healthy, but at least he's getting some limited work in. if he doesn't play against famu, my guess is that he'll be 100% healthy when we play morgan state because we have a "bye week" after ghoe before we play morgan state at home... I think that is the plan. Here's hoping the doctors give him the green light come Wednesday.

I know folks don't want to start thinking playoffs but we are heading into week 8 so it's time. BCU will probably win the autobid so we have to start thinking possible at-large bid. With that said we don't need any more close games against struggling teams. If we are a true playoff worthy team we will take care of FAMU by at least 2 td's.

We don't need to be thinking playoffs. We can lose to anybody on the schedule right now, and I wouldn't be surprised. We just need to be thinking that if we don't play our best game, we will lose.

Can someone please tell me exactly what his injury is exactly? ACL, MCL what is it ? As a former player that has had 4 knee surgeries 2 on each knee . There can be a # of things that can be wrong not only with the knee area but around the knee area. Their maybe something too Quicks injury that is. deeper then just his knee. Just saying.

to me, every game since the hampton game is a playoff game in my eyes. in my eyes, its a "single elimination" playoff to the playoffs. but we can't look at all the games we have left at the same time, gotta take one game at a time. as far as i'm concerned, every game is a "must win".
if we run the table from here on out, i think we'll have a very good chance of earning an at large bid with a 10-2 record. we're averaging over 30 points per game and we had an impressive 1 point loss to the presently 3rd ranked and "undefeated" team in the nation. i really like our chances if we win out. also, i know we didn't look good against scsu on national tv. but i think our other 2 national tv appearances more than make up for that, especially since the injury bug hit us against scsu...

I just hope the kid doesn't come back to soon. I know that Broadway will not rush him. I just would like to see Quick come back at 100% . OSA.

I’m not sure if there is a human element when selecting the at-large teams but us having to start a true freshman in the SC State loss should carry some weight on their decision.
Also, I commend Klugh for directing the last two wins but I don’t think we will be able to blow out an opponent by “forcing our will” without Quick at the helm. Now, we could very well win by 3+ or more touchdowns but it would be because FAMU can’t stop Cohen at all….or bubble screens.
Quite simply, a 100% healthy Quick forces a defense to defend two excellent runners instead of focusing on one...and they really had no idea what Quick was going to do. Then the boy started passing better. Throw in a couple of track stars at WR and our offense was on the edge of exploding before Quick went down. Indeed Broadway and Bustle used Chowan to practice the 4 receiver set and that’s the same O-set they started against Howard.
If Klugh can handle FAMU, and we should know by halftime if he can, then I’d rather stick with Klugh, then bring in the 100% healthy Quick for the final three games. The final 3 games need to be complete and utter destruction in order to raise the eyebrows needed. The lickin' that Villanova will lay on Morgan this weekend…we need to approach that…not necessarily do as good as Nova but at least handle them well to make it in the playoffs.
Just my thoughts.

Great observations and thoughts but I think if Quick is close to healthy for FAMU, he will not only play but probably start. That's a tendency of Broadway…..

Groove : I'm hoping that Broadway will not start Quick but instead use him as needed. So that he has the extra time to fully heal. I feel that Klugh is beginning to get his footing and the game is slowing down for him. I think that Klugh can take us to the win. I worry more about the defence staying focused on the job at hand. Not the D-line are LB's but the second dairy. FAMUs QB will come out throwing off the play action and he will be looking for the long ball home run. The NFZ must not lose focus.

Defensively our focus should be on containing the qb, Fleming. His value to famu is similar to that of McGhee of Howard. He had been shouldering the offensive load this far. So a similar defensive game plan to that of Howard should suffice even though Fleming is not as polished a passer as McGhee.
Containing this guy is the key force someone else to beat you.

I'm in agreement with most of you guys , I think we can beat FAMU with Klugh . That gives Quick another two weeks to heal and practice so he can come back strong for the home stretch .

Last ten games. Year | W/L | AGGIES | RATTLERS | LOCATION | 2003 | W | 22 | 16 | Greensboro | 2005 | L | 14 | 24 | Tallahassee | 2006 | L | 12 | 45 | Greensboro | 2007 | L | 21 | 24 | Tallahassee | 2008 | L | 7 | 45 | Greensboro | 2009 | L | 27 | 31 | Tallahassee | 2010 | L | 19 | 22 | Greensboro | 2011 | L | 20 | 26 | Tallahassee | 2012 | W | 16 | 3 | Greensboro | 2013 | W | 20 | 13 | Tallahassee |
Last year T. Cohen had 231 yards rushing against FAMU and L. Kindle was 4-13-1 for 18 yards and no TDs in a game that we almost let slip away. I don't expect Cohen to repeat another feat of strength like last year, but I don't see FAMU shutting him down either. Nor do I expect that type of QB performance. This team is better than last year. I'm not so sure I can say that about FAMU. Back to back road trips from FL can't be easy. They probably flew to DC last week, but this week I bet they are traveling by bus, especially if they're hauling the 100 up and down the road again.
