BGMM you found a way to keep it fresh. That was a fantastic show. I was about to crack up at some of the old heads in the reserve section trying to dance.

Doesn't get any better than that show, not just the sound, but the way that the formations changed to spell some of the songs. The dances, flags, and everything that was a part of that great show was as usual spot on. The best band in the land!!!

I had heard a rumor back in August that the band had a "Motown Show" that was awesome but they kept it a big secret. When they came out on the field Thursday and started into their first song, I knew it was going to be a special performance.
What a great performance by the band, the team and the old heads in the reserve section.

NC A&T - "The Motown Show" 10-9-2014. You gotta love these kids.
For those who couldn't make it out Thursday night, sit back and enjoy.

Thanks very much. This was definitely a challenging show to put on, for multiple reasons. The sentiments on this board are interesting given that many of the younger band members feel the opposite...but that's none of my business, I guess...

That show was amazing, and I hope those younger band members realize that kind of show (musical selection, arrangements, themes, etc.) put them in a class all by themselves, right now no other band even comes close to the BGMM. You don't have to play 2 chainz and rich homie for your show to be hype.
Again great job

Man, that show was awesome. While the youtube video is great, it doesn't compare to seeing it live and in living color...simply phenomenal. I always loved the bass line of Papa was a Rolling Stone. When the band turned to face the audience, I almost caught the holy ghost from the full sound of the band. My wife didn't attend the game, but I definitely told her about the performance before returning to SC. I played it for her on the TV when I got home. Hearing it played through the surround sound in the house and car gets me hyped. I hope the Machine takes the show to DSU. That is not a once and done type performance. The world needs to see it. If the Jackson 5 had a synchronized performance, the show would've been close to flawless (from a non-bandhead perspective). Don't get it twisted, Jackson 5 was jamming. I have seen many a band perform, but no show had me hooked like that one. Kudos to the Machine!!! Keep doing as only you can do!

The musical arrangements written by Dr. Jones are superior to anything I've heard from any other band thus far. I've become a really big fan of his work over the last couple of years.
Also, this was the first time in a very long time that I've had a chance to sit across the field and really see and hear our band in the stands. I'm not a band head by any stretch but I know what sounds and looks right as a fan.
G-MO-NETTI!!!! Those kids were like on go from start to finish and they looked great. Their "in the stands" work was a separate show all unto itself. Great job all the way around.

Loved the show! I knew the students and other kids wouldn't be so crazy about it. I also noticed that the reserved section responded to the band in general from the stands because they could clearly and directly hear the Machine. Might be an idea to consider when the visiting team does not bring a band.

Thanks very much. This was definitely a challenging show to put on, for multiple reasons. The sentiments on this board are interesting given that many of the younger band members feel the opposite...but that's none of my business, I guess... There are different types of fans. Some want to hear their favorite songs. That show is great for the older of that type of fan - and pretty garbage for the younger ones. You'll hardly ever please all of them at the same time - not really worth worrying about, in my opinion. Some don't care what they listen to as long as it sounds interesting and is well played. Hall of fame show for those fans, and we've been doing great there. Some want to hear something loud and sounding good. Lately our shows have only had a few seconds where the band unleashes their full power, and we tend to leave those fans wanting disappointed and wanting more. We could probably do more in that area. Then you have the fans that just want to hear horns blasting and mellos screaming. Not much we can do for them lol. At the end of the day, you'll never be all things to all people. Don't worry about it, but don't just live in a bubble and say forget what anybody else says either.

Can we get word to the announcer to chill with the excessive pleas for applause? He's always talking over the band and asking people to make noise. Can't we just enjoy the show without instructions? It makes me feel like I'm in church and they ask you to touch 3 people and whatever. Why?

The announcer is on point! He helps those of us recognize certain formations being formed which deserve an applause. His throwbacks at the opposing bands are right on time too.
