When the record is 1-infinity versus the conference, they have a right to see the teams as inferior. I am heartened by the fact we kept the score close, especially with a young team. I am disheartened by the fact that we lost. At the end of the day it comes down to who wins or loses. We still have never beaten this team. They also outgained us pretty handily. There are a whole lot of "ifs" for both teams regarding this game. Could've been a blowout win for them, could've been a blowout win for us... I just hope the players don't get the big head and let this be the high water point of the season. I've seen it happen. That won't happen. If anything, there will be a renewed focus as they still are learning how to win.

Broadway went with the higher percentage move in this situation given how much time was left at that point and it just didn't work out last night. Most every good college coach I know of would have done the same exact thing under those circumstances. Did u all watch the Same game I did?? 1) the too much time on 1st FG try- why?? That Shift on a Straight Up FG try, that resulted in 5 ya penalty and MIDDLE fg 2)the passing Package is NOT suited to Quick...OFFENSIVE COORDINATER-Quick needs to have a package that better fits his Skill set...NOT Kindle's or Klugh's. 3) why you 3 passes called in late possession in 4th qtr. After Coastal took lead-u mean to tell me one of the Best backs in the Country doesn't get A Touch? 4) new holder on MOST important X pt in game and Broadway does not call Time Out to make sure kid is Ok?? Badddd "No CALL" COACH While I agree Cohen should have had more touches in the 4th qtr and throughout the game in general, he was being bottled up on runs and the passing game and we needed to move the ball down the field quickly. We need these lumps in order to learn how to win in these critical moments. I would imagine we will begin to see packages where Cohen is lined up in the slot so he can get the ball in space.

WCA, Kayshawn Quick shouldn't have thrown the ball 32 times Saturday. Hell, I question if he should be throwing the ball 32 times ALL SEASON. I remember vividly telling folks beside me at the game Saturday. The running game was struggling in the 1st half. However, the war of attrition kicked in in the 2nd half. Those same running plays that were going nowhere in the 1st half were getting us multiple yards in the 2nd half because we were wearing those dudes down.
The OC has gotta implement more designed QB runs. Quick's feet are too good to have him throwing the ball 32 times. I want a passing QB more than anything....but Quick ain't that dude. He has magical feet - use em!!!

Yes, the 32 pass attempts were about 5-10 too many, our receivers have to catch the ball. Some of those passes were catchable but as the timing is worked on, those passes will become completions.
One thing this game reminds me of is we have to maintain an balanced offense as much possible. I guarantee you that SC State, FAMU, Hampton and the whole conference will be keying our running game and we will have to force them to respect our passing game enough to keep 8 or 9 defenders out of the box.

i'm just getting home from the game, it was a long drive back and i wasn't in a very good mood yesterday for obvious reasons. but i wasn't upset with our team, quite to the contrary. i was very "proud" of our team and our coaches. the only reason i was in a bad mood is because we loss the doggone game, not because i have any complaints with the team or our coaches.
everybody wants to be a "monday morning quarterback". i get that. but our players and coaches can't wait until the day after a game to make decisions, they have to make decisions while in the line of fire. folk say quick shouldn't have thrown the ball 33 times because we ran the ball somewhat successfully. well, in my opinion, the only reason we were able to run the ball successfully is because we showed ccu our willingness to pass the football which loosened up ccu's defense. ccu had 7, sometimes 8 guys in the box. only a fool would consistently run the ball when 8 guys are in the box.
i think one of the best calls all night by bustle was the 4th down conversion when he ran that counter play to cohen which gave him more than enough room to convert that very "critical" 4th down. i saw many other positives in the game too, like we didn't see any completely "blown coverages" like we did against aa&m. goes to show our coaches and players made adjustments because ccu would've passed for 500 yards or more had we played like we played against aa&m.
i'm licking my chops today, we let a very golden opportunity slip away from us. oh well, hopefully we can get back on track against elon this week...

LOL... saw some empty seats in the rest of the stadium too MarchingBand. I didn't think that all of those empty seats were in our fan section. All kidding aside, I think that we would have traveled better if we had not played at Citadel the week before. I love Greensboro, and I was considering going, but since I traveled south for our season opener, it was difficult to get the time and $$$ to make it up there this weekend. I heard several others say similar things. We had a considerably large section in Charleston last weekend, and I think that if we would have had a home game in between, then we might have had more fans in Greensboro. Maybe the next time we play there, it will be a little better. On average though, there is only a small percentage of us fans that travel to away games. LOL... I went up to Liberty last season for one of the biggest games in our short history, and there was only a small handful of CCU people there. It is getting better though. Our fanbase is growing each year. We had a drop-off a few years ago when we fired our previous coach and brought in Moglia, but people are now realizing that it was the best move we could have made. thanks for the kind words, ccufan. actually, compared to elon, i thought you guys had a pretty decent crowd at aggie stadium saturday night. elon is only a 15 minute drive from aggie stadium, yet ccu had way more fans at aggie stadium than elon did last year. and regarding your question about a&t "potentially" leaving the meac if the meac forfeits it's automatic playoff bid, our athletic director himself has not ruled that idea out. he didn't even rule that idea out "before" the rumors surfaced that the meac may be forfeiting it's automatic playoff bid. not to say that his intent is indeed to leave the meac, but he hasn't ruled it out either even when he was asked that question directly. i for one would not want to leave the meac "unless" our conference bypasses the playoffs. if that is the case, then i would want to leave the meac and join a conference that does participate in the playoffs. you guys are good sports and i enjoy playing your school. i think we could eventually form a pretty decent rivalry with you guys given that we're not very far apart. thanks again for your kind words and good luck with the rest of your season...

OSA this is the only time I have agreed with you on a post. We do have a lot of "Monday Morning" quarterbacks who complain about everything. Heck, I am proud of the way our team fought against CCU. We fought tooth and nail against them all night. We never backed up and in all actuality we should have won the game.
People are talking about the coach should have done this or that. I am tired of the neophytes and non athletes constantly being critical of our team and coaches. Hell, before Coach Broadway arrived we couldn't beat a good high school team. He has brought us from the dumps to the mountain top and yet we still have critics on BDV talking about his coaching abilities.
The same 4 or 5 guys who always know so much about analyzing a game more than likely never played in a varsity game in their lives. Hell, anyone can sit in the stands and point out something they did not like after it has taken place. That is calling Monday Morning Quarterbacking. We got too many guys on this site doing it. If you know so much about coaching then you are in the wrong profession.
I love our team and coaches. Quit bashing them because they are doing a great job!!

I haven't been able to read many this week's fan comments. However, other than being very disappointed with Saturday's loss, my one comment is a reminder of Coach Broadway's statement early this season. Paraphrasing, he said 'the team has to learn how to handle winning (success)' and Saturday's loss was a good example of them not knowing how to handle success. After scoring what could have been the winning touchdown late in the 4th quarter, the team appeared to loss focus and missed the point after touchdown and then let CCU run the kickoff back for a touchdown. If the team focuses for the entire game, we can beat anyone on our schedule.
Here's to good luck and focus during this week's Elon game.

From the Myrtle Beach Sun: Compliments from A&TCoastal Carolina president David DeCenzo received an email Tuesday morning from North Carolina A&T athletic director Earl Hilton praising how the Chants respected the Aggies’ facilities and cleaned up the visiting locker room in a way the school is unaccustomed to seeing from an opponent. The email was forwarded to head coach Joe Moglia and other university officials, and Moglia shared it Tuesday evening before practice, saying how he appreciated the recognition for CCU director of football operations George Glenn and his staff. As Moglia said, it’s not often such efforts get noticed and especially rare that another school takes the time to relay such a compliment. Hilton’s email says the praise was sparked from a conversation he had with his associate athletic director for facilities and game operations. “He indicated that your football team and staff cleaned up their entire sideline, cleaned up their locker room, and took the trash out of the locker room as they left the facility. Thank you. That simply does not happen often,” the email reads. “Please let your AD and football coaches know how much we appreciate this gesture of respect and sportsmanship. We certainly enjoyed the game. Thank you for the way your young men represented themselves and their families during and after the game Saturday night.” It’s a nice look for both schools, which have met on the football field five times now with the Chants winning all five – none closer this one, though. Man, I'm impressed by CCU's taking care of our facilities like they did and by AD Hilton response to them. IMO, both actions demonstrate class and respect.

I hope we are as respectful.
