Even if you call a timeout, quick would still not been able to hold for extra point. By rule he has to sit out one play. I think a lot of people are confusing the situation where if a player is hurt and game is stopped, then the coach has the option to call a timeout so he can remain in game, otherwise he has to sit out one play. That's not true the rule was modified last season to allow the player to return if his team uses a time out.

Hey guys! I know that you are all upset about the loss. I think that after you have some time to think about it, you will realize that you have nothing to be upset about. Your team has improved drastically over the past couple of seasons, and I can see that your program is definitely heading in the right direction. Your coach is a class act, and he is doing a great job with your players. After facing off against Bethune-Cookman for the last two years in the play-offs, I definitely think that you guys have a legitimate shot at the MEAC title this season.
I know as a fan, it is hard to sit back and wait on things to happen. You are right on the cusp of being a top team on the FCS front. At CCU we can definitely appreciate the battles that you have to go through for recognition over some of the usual top-tiered FCS teams. We both play in conferences that are viewed to be not as strong as the others (rightfully so, in some cases) so that makes it harder. Back before the play-off field was expanded, we felt that we deserved a shot to be in the field a few times, but only got in once, and that was to be paired with one of the best App St. teams ever. Finally, after beating Montana last season to advance to the 3rd rd., we earned a little respect. Be patient, if your team keeps progressing as it has, you will make it there.
I know that some people mentioned it earlier in the week, but I am curious how much significance has been given to talks of A&T leaving the MEAC? I know that SC State has been talking about it for a few years now. I am certain that the Big South would move to pick up some of the teams that left if the MEAC had a falling out. I think that you guys would be a great fit in our conference, both geographically and competitively.
Anyways, best of luck to you on the rest of your season. As I said, I think that you have some bright Saturdays ahead of you.

There has been no talk (or interest) in leaving the MEAC. I was telling one of your fellow Chanticleers earlier in the week there was no way it was going to be 45-13. Our talent has gotten too good and our coaching has been too consistent to where we were going to lose by that margin. Many of us Aggies expected a victory last night
However, a sign of being a good team is winning when the pressure is on. CCU did that last night, which I respect tremendously. I hope you guys win out.....the better you all do, the better our profile gets as well.

Yeah. I saw that prediction. We have blowouts like that occasionally, even against good teams. As I am sure you saw last night, our offense has the ability to put up quick points. When we do, it often breaks the other teams spirits and leads to a big margin. We almost pulled away in the 2nd quarter last night, but your kids decided that they weren't going down like that, which is a testament to your coaching staff.
I did not think that we were going to win in a blow out, especially on the road in your first home game of the season after a big win the week before. I knew that you guys would play with confidence and give us all we wanted.
As for the conference thing, I was wondering because I keep hearing that the MEAC/SWAC have been considering removing themselves from the play-off picture in lieu of playing their match-ups during the play-offs. I don't know all of the details, but I have been told by SCSU fans that if that were the case, they would be leaving the MEAC the second that they announced that would happen. How much truth is in this idea that the MEAC and SWAC would be scheduling something like this and foregoing the FCS play-offs?

I hope our AD keeps Coastal on our schedule in future seasons. It took us several years to beat App State and I feel it's time to take Coastal down. They got lucky last night but they won't be the next time. Oh and maybe they will bring some damn fans the next time we play them in Aggie Stadium!

Coastal didn't get lucky last night....they won the game. SCSU is all talk - they talk about going here or there.....they ain't going anywhere. We need to consistently keep CCU on the schedule. I would love to have Liberty on the schedule too. Aggie football needs to consistently be playing the best teams within this region - CCU is definitely one of them.

LOL... saw some empty seats in the rest of the stadium too MarchingBand. I didn't think that all of those empty seats were in our fan section. All kidding aside, I think that we would have traveled better if we had not played at Citadel the week before. I love Greensboro, and I was considering going, but since I traveled south for our season opener, it was difficult to get the time and $$$ to make it up there this weekend. I heard several others say similar things.
We had a considerably large section in Charleston last weekend, and I think that if we would have had a home game in between, then we might have had more fans in Greensboro. Maybe the next time we play there, it will be a little better. On average though, there is only a small percentage of us fans that travel to away games. LOL... I went up to Liberty last season for one of the biggest games in our short history, and there was only a small handful of CCU people there. It is getting better though. Our fanbase is growing each year. We had a drop-off a few years ago when we fired our previous coach and brought in Moglia, but people are now realizing that it was the best move we could have made.

I hate that mind set about visitors bringing fans being important to our home games. That takes away the home field advantage. We need to focus on getting the local community to attend games. 15K for a non-rival is actually pretty good to me.

do we crack the top25? or will the poll continue to ignore us

Ok gang......Let's look at the good and the bad. We pride ourselves on stopping the run but.....after 2 games we have given up an average of 176.5 yds. per game rushing . By air we have given up an average of 226.5 yds. per game. So thus far our defense is still trying to develop an identity. Offensively, we need to work on plays that give Quick the best opportunity to develop plays passing the football. What may work for Klugh may not work for Quick. In our most recent game, Quick was inefficient in the passing game. He connected 12 times out of 32 attempts.......a 37% completion rate.
Hopefully, we will get better as the season progresses.

do we crack the top25? or will the poll continue to ignore us If we win games they will have no other choice. If you are honest you will have to admit the MEAC is not a strong football conference. Let's hope we go 11-1 and get a good seeding in the playoffs. It's up to us to prove the "experts" wrong. How do we do that? Win games we are suppose to win and win games we are not suppose to win!

I think the stats can be misleading...the A&M game was lopsided so, the got garbage yards.CCU's run game is just as potent as ours so I'm not reading too much into the stats. I will say, I don't expect us to be a dominant defense, but I do expect us to be a good defense that makes plays (turnovers)...and I can live with that.

We can definitely compete with CCU in spite of their perception. Playing 3 MEAC teams you'd think they're in our conference and obviously their AD doesn't mind playing what many of them preceive as inferior teams. We have an overall young team and we'll get to the next level. On to Elon.

When the record is 1-infinity versus the conference, they have a right to see the teams as inferior. I am heartened by the fact we kept the score close, especially with a young team. I am disheartened by the fact that we lost. At the end of the day it comes down to who wins or loses. We still have never beaten this team.
They also outgained us pretty handily. There are a whole lot of "ifs" for both teams regarding this game. Could've been a blowout win for them, could've been a blowout win for us...
I just hope the players don't get the big head and let this be the high water point of the season. I've seen it happen.
