What do you all think about the new A&T Brand "Aggies Do"? Is this suppose to take the place of "Aggie Pride"? I heard that A&T spent $50,000 to come up with this new Brand. I hope that is not true because that is a lot of money to come up with "Aggies Do".

please say it ain't so! $50k for "aggies do"? we are already known "nationally" for our "aggie pride" chant. why spend $50k promoting a new slogan when we don't even need one? why not spend that $50k promoting aggie athletics or for someone's athletic scholarship...

I'm pretty sure what we're talking about is the yearly PR slogan we use for marketing the athletic programs and season ticket sales. The last two years the slogan was was "Get Locked In."
Anyone remember the pregame promos with Dr. Martin and Broadway, among others, on the scoreboard and the TV commercials spots on local TV media here using that slogan? They print it up on all the pocket calenders/ schedules, billboards, wristabands, cups, etc. plus the advertising on all of our radio and TV spots throughout football and basketball seasons.
All that would certainly cost somewhere in that neighborhood for trademarking rights, print, and promotion fees. That's just part of the regular marketing budget and nothing above and beyond. However, its not and never will be meant to replace the term "Aggie Pride" that is most commonly used at all A&T functions.
Different deal altogether.

No, this has nothing to do with athletics. They have little small booklets that they are giving out explaining the whole concept behind the new Brand "Aggies Do". I was told that they hired a firm to work on this. This has nothing to do with sports slogans. It is being pushed as a new direction for A&T marketing. Some alums were discussing it at the scrimmage yesterday. I have one of the booklets and have read it.

I cannot wait to see the whole branding campaign. We really haven't had a consistent marketing program in years. I never did get the lone classroom chair campaign but I guess it wasn't meant for us old folks. I like the phase "Aggie Do" and I'm sure they've got some neat stuff to go with it.

Nope...clicked on it and it went to a blank page. I'm sure it will be resent in a day or two. By the way, you going to the QC Battle of the Bands on Saturday. And there's a watch party in Charlotte for the SWAC/MEAC game at Sports One Bar & Lounge at 521 North College Street. Doors open at 11:15!

However I won't be able to attend the watch party. I actually won the auction so my wife and I will be traveling with the team to the game. I cant wait although I am not looking forward to the heat. Hopefully the entire stadium will do the ALS ice bucket challenge...lol Sent from my SCH-I535 using proboards

Don't get to comfortable on this trip...you are now officially our "Blue Death Valley inside guy" for that weekend. "aggies do" is gonna have to grow on me. it's not quite working for me right now. one of the main reasons is because i can imagine that our rivals will change "aggies do" to "aggies do do". but whatever works for the masses, i'll go along with it...
