I like what Im reading. *I would add that we just did not have the depth overall. ( Remember when our center went down and the next two of three series we had poor exchanges). Idk if we won or lost that game, but I hurt us.
I believe that Coach is the type that will improve it.
I thought at times that Cohen was getting worked too much, but then He would break one.

So you think DSU QB was outstanding last year, now I understand where you are coming from. LOL! REALLY DUDE? dude, what the heck is wrong with you? dsu's qb made "all meac" last season! howard's mcghee was first team all meac qb and dsu's cory murphy was 2nd team "all meac" as a qb. dude, what planet do you live on? murphy "led" the entire meac in passing, mcghee was 2nd, and kindle was 3rd. i don't know what meac football you be watching. must be video games...

Making the first team in the MEAC means you had a mediocre year stat wise. As a conference we threw more int's then touchdowns and no QB completed over 60% of their passes.
Our QB's as a whole underperformed and are holding back our offensive production which what we need to win playoff games.

Even though Murphy made 2nd team, in the game vs DSU last year, I wasn't impressed with Murphy. In fact, I don't remember anything special he did in that game. What I specifically remember is our offense sputtering the entire game. The defense gave it all they had, but they didn't get help from the other side of the ball - they wore down as the game went on. I just went back and looked at the stats for that game. Our team was 1 of 14 on 3rd down conversion ---- YUCK!!!

the dsu game was the game when we had to start a freshman center due to injury and he had "numerous" erroneous snaps that flew completely over the qb's head. that was a major problem in that game that cost us losses of over 25 yards on one bad snap. i was at that game and it was very frustrating to see that happen.
murphy led the conference in passing and was the only qb to average over 200 yards per game passing. man, i don't know what dsu team ya'll were looking at. can't judge a qb based on only one game. dude leads the meac in passing and is voted the 2nd best qb in the league. i don't know what else needs to be said...

I was looking at the DSU team that beat us last year. Murphy didn't have a good game vs us......not to say he didn't vs the rest of the MEAC. The stats bare this out ----- 16-30 for 180 yards, 0 TD, 3 sacks.
If you would have told me that a 2nd team all-MEAC was going to have these stats in a game vs us.....I would have liked my chances for a victory that day. I'm not knocking Murphy - he just didn't have a high caliber game vs us, despite his offense being on the field for 35+ minutes.

Broadway and staff will not allow the game to be a trap. The issue will be games in Oct. We have to avoid conference games we shouldn't lose. Honestly, if we get past CCU and SC State without having mental breakdowns against Morgan, Hampton or another MEAC foe, we could be going into the post season with a 10 win record or more.

You just won't let it go. Kindle 3rd team all MEAC, wow! Now I see why the conference have not won a pay-off game in over 15 years.

And by the way OSA, A&T's Cohen should had been the MEAC offensive player of the year. He was the best and most dynamic player in the league. Broadway should have played him more earlier in the season.

OSA - I'm not disagreeing with anything you're saying.....but bigpeete has a point as well. If Kindle was 3rd team all-MEAC, that really is a head-scratching indictment on the QB quality of play last year in the MEAC.

OldSchool,
I think you're missing the point a little. You keep mentioning HU's and FAMU qb, as though we're trying to put things only on the back of the qb. That's not what we are eluding too. Consistent qb play will move the chains in the MEAC, put the team into scoring position. It will still take a team effort to score, no doubt. But, to move the ball up and down the field, getting first downs, and not turning it over is key. Situation ball in terms of good decisions being made when the line/blocking breaks down, and not taking sacks unnecessarily. This is what we mean as it relates to qb play. Yes, the qb's at Howard and FAMU put up points, but their defenses we're shabby. We had a solid defense last year, but shabby offensive play (inconsistent). Quality qb play would have propelled us to an 11-1 record for sure.
