Let's hire more sports marketing staff and special team coaches before we spend a dime on artificial turf! More marketing staff will sell more tickets to games and we will make more money for scholarships and recruiting. And special teams coaches will help us win games. Okay that's all we need to discuss about the turf so let's talk about something important like the 2014 season.

that field turf is absolutely beautiful and it looks great on tv. we play hampton on a thursday night espnu tv game this season and its games like this that you wanna put your best foot forward on "national tv". i'm 100% in favor of aggie stadium installing field turf. as of today, only a&t, norfolk, and famu don't have field turf in the meac...

From what I have been told there is and has been serious talk about installing turf in Aggie Stadium. I think that with so many other schools having turf already it will put pressure on A&T to seriously consider installing turf. How to pay for it will probably be a stumbling block.

Turf, get a sponsor to pay for it and name the field after the sponsor....ie
New Balance Field..... Find the money AAF. However, I like grass.

i met to mention this when we played hampton on espnu but i forgot. i'm in favor of installing field turf at aggie stadium, but if we can keep our grass surface looking as "beautiful" as it was when we played hampton on tv, there would be no need for synthetic turf and i'd favor keeping our natural grass.
my only complaint with our grass surface is that it turns "brown" in late october and november, and the brown grass is not very attractive to say the least. but if we can keep it nice and green "for the entire season" like it was against hampton (we played them on oct. 9th), then i'd wanna keep our natural grass. it was "gorgeous" on espn! and the painted markings were "flawless" too!
it appeared that somebody knew we had to put on our best face on national tv which is a good thing. i just wish we could keep it that way...

I totally agree. The field looked awesome for the Hampton game. The scoreboard and the stadium rails need a paint job.

Synthetic turf is dangerous! It is now being link to players developing a form of Cancer. Yeah...I just changedy my tune on this after watching 2 stories of how rapidly soccer goalies are developing forms of cancer attributed to the field turf. SC State used to paint their Bulldog Stadium grass a dark green...let's consider doing that until more research is done on the field turf.

Synthetic turf is dangerous! It is now being link to players developing a form of Cancer. Its a different type of in-fill you can use besides the rubber tires. "Nike Grind, The product's marketing materials tout used shoes as a non-toxic choice, noting that they are "subject to and routinely tested for compliance with stringent consumer product chemistry standards that far exceed the requirements for sports surfaces."" Next reason not to get it please??

I love how artificial turf looks but I wonder about the impact on injuries. Based on the number of injuries we got at Howard on their rug I worry about that.

Based on the number of injuries we got at Howard on their rug I worry about that. that is a concern, but howard's turf seems to be the only artificial turf that we've had trouble with so far and howard's turf is brand new. i don't recall us having any injuries in atlanta or at dsu. but i agree, that is a concern...

Don't confuse normal football playing injuries that could happen just as well on grass to the play on field turf. The turf only maxims the speed, power and cutting ability that a player has X 2 then it would be on grass. To be fair to the turf there are just as many injuries on grass now then on the new field turf that is more grass like.
