Man don't you just love "spring practice?" It just rings with optimism...new players, new enthusiasm, new plays, and hopefully new championships. So what's the date and time for the Spring Game?

So, the first few practices will be focused on conditioning?

the date? April 5th at 12:30 right now. Only 15 practices, far less on conditioning and most all of it on installing schemes teching, and assessing talent then finding your most of your starting lineup before fall camp.

They will practice Mon, Wed and Fri. A lot of learning went on yesterday. Some conditioning, but it wasn't the main focus. Kids were so busy concentrating on their position, they didn't see the others. I asked about the QB from juco (Foster) and everyone says he can roll out and make an accurate throw. He can also put on the leadership roll in the huddle. Some fellow teammates want to see Femi (Bamiro, Oluwafemi) get a chance. The other guy has been moved to LB (not Quick).

He's referring to Dawson. Klugh is still finishing up HS at Central Cabarrus.

Oh yeah...that's right, aggie one. Can Dawson play defense? I understand making changes during the spring but, can they play the part. Can Dawson play defense?

Then he will have to learn. He played some safety in high school when he wasn't under center. Marquis Boylan was a skinny hot shot high school QB out of Eau Claire, SC like Dawson and now he's a pretty strong candidate for us to start at strong safety as a sophomore. If Dawson can play, which he can, then he'll make the adjustment.
Good athletes always do.

No, I think he is referring to Dorian Belcher.

No, I think he is referring to Dorian Belcher. Yes, Bleacher. Glad to see that Belcher has stuck to it and gotten his grades together. If he has been moved to defense, then the coaching staff is expecting big things out of the new batch of QBs coming in.

Dawson worked out with the QB's on Monday. The new kid (juco transfer) looked petty good throwing the ball. He's not a big kid, maybe 5'10". Femi looked good throwing the ball and so did Quick. I expect big time competition for the QB starting spot. I did not see Belcher out there, maybe I just missed him. The coaches were in rare form Monday. They were yelling and cussing like the season has already started. Just looking at the size, especially of the DL, you can tell that they worked in the weight room this off season along with the rest of the team. They all looked in good shape. The new juco QB stayed out on the field after practice was over throwing to the WR's. Can't wait for the first scrimmage.

Sounds like Foster intends to win the starting job. He obviously didn't come all the way to the east coast to to be a backup. Putting the extra work in starting on Day One says something.
