We lost only three linemen total to graduation combined on both sides of the ball and a very nice group that didn't play last year but will next month when spring practice starts. We're stocked up on both sides of the line.
Venable like some of the other new kids graduated HS early and are already in school so they will get an early sart with spring practice next month.
PJ, I saw Andrews play nearly every week and I can say this without hesitation. Marquell Cartwright is a freak of nature at tailback. He can do it all. He's tough as nails, tremendous strength, speedy with a great stop and go step in finding the open space.
You can give it to him 30 times a game with no fatigue problem. The more carries the better he gets. He'll run around you, over your, and through you. He has great hands out of the backfield. He's a man.
Cartwright is the true real steal out of this class. Having both he and Tarik Cohen in the same backfield is going to be hell to contend with for everyone we play.

.....all these accolades for our recruits are fine and dandy.... I'm worried about September through December 2014. We now have no APR issues, spring practice, and 4 years under Broadway. IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR OUR OFFENSE TO PUT UP BETTER NUMBERS....ie, not struggling to get 200 yards of offense, minimizing the number of "3 downs and punt" drives, asking our offense to average over 21 ppg (without the help of the defense or special teams) I'm happy for all the new Aggies coming to campus, but I ain't gonna go overboard over recruits. You all know how folks get on meacfanszone.proboards.com. Everyone proclaims they found the best recruit/transfer since Jim Brown.....then when the regular season rolls around, it's the same ole same ole. We can talk all day long about how great our recruits are......I'm waiting for the fall to see what they do (AND HOW THEY'RE COACHED) on the field.

all you folk who say don’t brag about our recruits, i’d say ya’ll need to find another hobby other than sports. cuz we “fans” are supposed to talk smack in favor of our team. hello!!! that’s what fans do!
as long as nobody so much as “remotely” reaches the bragging level of gur, then i see nothing wrong with being proud of our recruits. if our recruits turn out to be “busts”, then so be it. we’ve had “busts” before and we’ll have more “busts” in the future. but that’s what “smack” is all about! you win some, you lose some. if you grew up in the “sports culture” like i did, talking smack comes with the territory whether you believe your own smack or not. if you’re not willing to take a “pie in the face” on occasion, then you picked the wrong hobby! stay away from sports!
i’d rather see our fans praise our recruits prematurely than call for the firing of our coaches every time they lose a game. if we’re wrong about our recruits, then we’ll just be wrong, period. nothing wrong with eating a little crow on occasion. but i’m not gonna subdue my excitement just because some of ya’ll are too “boring” and too scared of being wrong. i mean, we got folk tellin’ thrilla to chill on the nicknames. shoot, i say man have fun with it, thrilla! that’s what fans do! i mean, that’s what’s wrong with the dawg pound to this very day! folk too scared to stand up and cheer! man, bump that “wine and cheese” crap. give me some enthusiasm! give me the fan who dresses up in a “pig outfit” just to chastise bozeman! if we lose the game, so be it. but don’t lose that “enthusiasm” to support your team!
the only thing we fans hang our hat on is “bragging rights”. that’s why we get so upset when we lose games because it takes away our “bragging rights”. as long as you don’t go overboard, bragging is what “fans” are supposed to do. stop being too afraid to eat crow...

Bennett has another year of eligibilty left. He was red shirted as a freshman. We have three starters back in our O-Line.

He's about 265 but very long, strong for his size and quick.

Bennett came out with the seniors on senior day. He indicated that he was not returning. On the other hand Canty and William Robinson who are also redshirts did not come out with the seniors

All this fuss over "recruits and signing day" don't mean spit until you see how they perform on gameday. I think we have a good coaching staff and I think they can judge talent well so I'm expecting this team to play much better this fall. So I'm with you, I won't get excited until we give some payback to Coastal and Hampton this year!

man, this dude comes from a “powerhouse” private school high school league (wcac) here in the dc area. so he played against “top notch” competition and is well tested. all the schools in his league recruit guys (without boundaries) to play at their school. and its legal because all of the schools in the wcac are private catholic schools and they all have superior academic reputations. a lot of these guys receive scholarships for their tuition at the wcac schools. the wcac is a whole different level compared to public schools, they “rarely” if ever lose games to any public school team regardless of the school’s classification. so the dominant plays you see on his highlight video comes against top notch competition. also, its very likely that this guy won't have any academic problems as far as our apr goes because wcac schools are excellent academic schools and most of them are "college prep" schools. so i expect that he's very academically sound...

In one of the videos, I noticed Omar Truit (Son of Bennett Bell Carla(Applewait)Truit, playing DB for St. Johns College in the WCAC. He just signed with Iowa. His father played for the Redskins and Oakland.

At the Wednesday signing party, Broadway said they weren't finished yet so there will be more as next few days go by. I understand some ACT/SAT scores are due back shortly don't be surprised as several players officially commit later this month and even into spring practice.
